this school is horrible and every day I have to come back I want to leave even more. This school and especially the spanish teachers because the publicly shame and humiliate students every single day. An example of this would be that one day my fellow student was made fun of in front of the whole calss because he couldn't translate a english sentence into spanish. Overall this school was a horrifying experience and I just cant wait to leave.

This place was the main cause of my depression. I was so happy the day I left this place. Also the admin does not care for students unless they were popular.

To start, I spent every day keeping a log of the treatment I endured while teaching at VCMS. That's how you KNOW you're working in a toxic environment under TOXIC people. Working for this school was the demise of my career as an educator. The teachers are highly knowledgeable in their field and truly care for all of their students. They say raising kids takes a village. Educating 1000+ kids, day in and day out, is no different. To do so effectively, teachers need support. They need to know that their administration will have their back. They need to know that when they put classroom rules and procedures into place they will stay in place. Furthermore, teachers should have the respect they deserve from their administration, parents, and students. After all, they are the experts in their field and content area. The principal is, without a doubt, the worst administrator that I have ever witnessed (take the word "witnessed" with a grain of salt, because the man was usually only seen when the camera came out; take field day, for example). It is astonishing to me that this man not only made his way into an administrative position in a TOP SCHOOL SYSTEM in the country, but how on earth he has remained in the same position over the past few years. What's sad is the ASTRONOMICAL teacher turnover rate is obviously not enough to raise red flags. With a little help from the AP, Principal took an extremely strong extinguisher to any ounce of the burning passion that I had for being a teacher. My classroom was vandalized. On one occasion, my furniture (that I purchased) was destroyed. Tables flipped over. Lamps shattered. On a few occasions I was even told by students, "I will have you fired if you call my mom" for misbehaving. Support from AP or P? Now, that's just funny. None.Because of their lack of support behavior is rampant. Students run the school. THEY are in charge. In turn, the (remaining) reachers aren't able to teach effectively the way they once could. LAST NOTE - The AA is more of a principal then both AP and Principal. He's the only good thing left at that school, and honestly a really good person/role model for the kids.

The school population has experienced huge growth over the past few years as Forsyth county continues to draw more people to the area. As far as bullying, that happens everywhere and your job as a parent is to teach your child how to deal with it, get involved with the school, and teach your child how to work past it. Your job is also to teach your child compassion so they do not become a bully themselves. This school far surpasses the one I went to when I was that age. The teachers are caring but they get over worked and over stretched. I was told by one (not long after she retired) that they were not allowed to discipline kids if the kids chose to play on their cell phones in class. Schools are afraid of being sued. This probably happens all over the country in this day and age with kids having cell phones. Overall this school is a fantastic school doing the best they can with their circumstances. I would be proud to attend Vickery and would not hesistate to put my kids there again. Thanks
