Alliance Academy for Innovation

The teachers are so engaging with the students. This school is for all students on different levels. The small classroom sizes were a plus for us. Alliance Academy prepared my son to for an internship at end of his junior year in high school.

Students are always on their phones and earbuds, even during class instruction. You have a few different types of students here.-Pressured for good grades Typically boys, their parents obviously pressure them for good grades. Likely a "gifted" kid.-I don't know how I got hereTheir parents wanted them to go to a good school, and here they are. Usually taking one of the "easier" pathways.-I don't care Similar to "I don't know how I got here." These students are taking one of the "easier" pathways but their grades in academics are plummeting. They are offered help, but never take it. Reasons for this could be depression, laziness, or here for their friends and not school. Important note: depression is not the same as laziness.The teachers, for the most part are amazing, along with the clubs. Sex ed is horrific and pretty much teaches you "if you have sex, you will get a STD, get pregnant, lose your collage scholarship, and die of AIDS." The unit comes with a booklet that includes a certificate saying, "I choose to delay sexual activity likely until I'm married." (It is optional but very uncomfortable to see that during class.)

Engaging discussions, solid content, specialized areas of study including AP, Honors and a variety of electives. The teachers care and go above and beyond to provide clear instructions for assignments.
