Indian Creek Middle School

Since starting this school my daughters reading level has pretty much stayed the same until I started having to actually become a teacher at home. There is absolutely NO FAMILY ENGAGEMENT WHATSOEVER!! I’ll call when things are upcoming and the front office says no as well as the teachers just to get reports that parents may have shown up. ATP my kids feel like I just don’t want to be a part and it’s very disheartening on top of the academics! I honestly hate this school and I’m looking for a new/ different school for my kids to attend next year. You had to buzz in to get the kids but once your in good luck to them asking for any form of ID before they hand your child over and/or allow them in someone’s car after school (thank God I teach my kids stranger danger because the staff does not check whatsoever)

While the school was fantastic in previous years, recent changes in faculty have left the school in a very poor state. The teachers are ill equipped and ill trained for managing a classroom. Teachers have been caught repeatedly insulting students, yelling at them, and my student is now afraid to go to school because of the teachers. Poor communication has been the norm, but even when meetings happen issues are not resolved. Learning support and feedback in the classroom have become sparse to non-existent. It's a shame to see what this one great school has become. For people familiar with the movie Matilda, what used to be Ms. Honeywell has become Ms. Trunchbull. Sparse classrooms, hostile teachers, with a focus on silent obedience over learning.

This school is one I am looking at for my child to attend in the next year. I am hoping they offer a good environment seeing as we are moving due to my employer. I am hoping to have my child attend school in the Conyers GA area. We are moving from NY and we are hoping the teaching is comparable to where we came from. We are moving from Rochester NY and our child is attending one of the best districts in the country.

There is a reason why Google reviews for this school have been disabled. In my opinion, the school is in serious need of a comprehensive overhaul. My child attended this school for several years and experienced bullying from both staff and students that was never adequately addressed.I am also concerned about inequitable treatment of students. In my experience, students of non-Caucasian backgrounds are more likely to be labeled, targeted, and treated unfairly. Additionally, some teachers appear disengaged and have openly described the school as an “easy” environment that does not require much effort, which is troubling.Support for students with special needs is another major concern. Despite being a public school funded by taxpayers, there appears to be a lack of willingness to provide appropriate accommodations. Students who require additional support are often treated differently or made to feel unwelcome, which raises concerns about compliance with federal protections under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), which guarantees eligible students a free and appropriate public education. Disciplinary practices also seem inconsistent. There appears to be a disparity in how students of different racial backgrounds are treated for similar behaviors. For example, there was an incident involving a Caucasian female student throwing up gang signs in a class photo for the yearbook. Instead of being reprimanded, the situation was laughed off, and the only consequence was that the class had to retake the picture. It is difficult not to question whether the outcome would have been the same for a student of color.Additionally, administrative decisions sometimes seem to be influenced by selective parent complaints rather than objective evaluation. This creates an environment that feels exclusionary and inconsistent with the expectations of a public institution.Overall, I believe the school attempts to operate with the exclusivity of a private institution, despite being publicly funded. My child’s educational rights were, in my view, not upheld, and the emotional impact of these experiences has been significant.I strongly encourage district leadership to review performance data, disciplinary patterns, and overall school practices. Other schools in the county appear to be significantly outperforming this one.In hindsight, my only regret is not transferring my child sooner. I hope that no other student has to endure a similar experience.

Peachtree has been a huge blessing to our family and we love our kid's teachers! They go above and beyond and are great about working with them. Our daughter was out due to a friend at church testing positive that she was in contact with and the teachers were so helpful and supportive. She did not miss much since teachers were available to answer questions and Zoom when she needed help. Middle school can be hard but this has been a fantastic transition to a new school and we felt welcome right away.

I highly recommend Peachtree Academy, not only for the academic program but the administration, and the teachers are absolutely amazing. I child started in 4th grade at our Conyers campus and excelled very well, the class sizes are smaller so the teacher has more time to spend with each student as they need help. My child is currently at our Covington Campus in 5th grade and her teachers, Mrs. Bennent and Mr. Howard, go above and beyond to ensure she gets the education she needs to be ready for middle school. If you are looking for a great Christian environment as well as an outstanding academic program check out Peachtree Academy.
