Read what parents are saying about Pine Street Elementary SchoolThis is a great school with very caring teachers and staff.
Posted by a parent on 5/19/2023Being new to the Rockdale school system I was unsure what the experience would be. So far Pine Street Elementary has made Me and my child's welcoming into the community fantastic. The teachers are awesome and I must say that they communicate accomplishments and concerns (if there were any) and that is a really big plus. When you step on the campus you get a since of pride. The school is newly built and they do a great job with the up keep. Every week it seems like the children have new activities that they are able to participate in and I love the fact that my child really like the food selections they have at school. Pine Street and its gifted program is really setting a standard amongst the Rockdale school system wanting to keep the children engaged. I felt compelled to write an honest review of 5 stars based on my experience so far amongst the six categories (Homework, Teachers, Leadership, Character, Learning differences and Bullying). When I look at my child's class and how bright they are I see the future of Conyers/Rockdale and beyond. Thank you all for the work you all do and us as parents appreciate you all.

Posted by a parent on 3/29/2020This is one of the worst schools I have ever had to enroll my children in. Seems like the teachers are not in the business of education for the sake and love of children seems like they're only here for a paycheck. Front office staff is not friendly or welcoming you can stand there 10 minutes before anyone greets you or acknowledges you. I have two children attending the school a 4th grader and 1st grader. On the first day of school my 4th grader was put on the wrong bus and I had to leave work to go to the school to pick him up. My oldest child is in special education and I am an involved parent however the teachers don't like that they prefer parents that don't care. If you value your children find an alternative to the school I will be putting my children into private school.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would say the staff in the office is terrible. I am in the middle of a custody battle and the lady in the front office told me straight to my face that "she was done dealing with my drama" which I found funny being that this was the second time all year we have had an issue. I had a custody agreement that said I get my child whe school lets out, yet the principal would not go by it. The principal told me that she didn't want to get involved. Im sorry but whu are you a principal if you don't want to get involved in your students lives? My child is clearly having behavior and health problems being with my husband and I have asked the teacher's to please put my child in counseling, being the abuse my son has seen. They have not replied back to me but have only said they don't want to get involved. I don't know how to take this. Growing up, I was told if something bad was happening to us a teacher would help. Clearly not here. I would NEVER let my child go to a school where the adults don't care about the well-being of the children there.Parent Review7y ago - Hicks Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI personally don't know what my child would have learned, if anything, if it wasn't for the special needs department at CJ Hicks. My child wasn't able to read or write in the 2nd grade at another school in Rockdale County district . It took only six months with Mrs. Foot, and he improved 200 percent.Parent Review2y ago - Hightower Trail Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt is and has been one of the lowest performing schools in Rockdale for years. The work is very insufficient. Its students perform alarmingly low in math standardized tests. Parent involvement is very low. Overall, students are way below the State and the country's level. As students finish, they enter Conyers Middle school, which is another very low performing school in Conyers, which is explained by the unprepared students from HTTE. I have 2 children there currently. My 2 adult children attended HTTE 10 years ago, so we have experienced the severe decline of this school. The report grade at the Governor's office is a D (this is verifiable online),. One letter grade from F. I would recommend to search accreditable sources when chosing a school district, since these reviews are just opinions and do not refer to facts.
