Read what parents are saying about Lanier Middle SchoolThis school and the Gwinnet county school board are terrible. They had the parents commit to a Summer School Program for Kids and the time was supposed to be from 8:00pm to 2:00pm. Then they went ahead and changed and never asked anyone if it was okay. This morning I went to drop my son off a little earlier and they did want to let him in the school and I get an attitude from anyone that I spoke to. Then I called the school to ask if we could change him from a car rider to a bus rider and they will not accommodate that request either. There is always an excuse why things cannot be done. They are terrible to work with if your schedule does not work with theirs.
Posted by a parent on 6/14/2021This school is worse than Sugar Hill Elementary! The kids act all inappropriate, the assignments are a pain, some teachers aren’t making the lessons fun, and the lessons are useless. When will I ever use anything from social studies, math, or science? The kids are also very immature. All they do is talk as loud as they can and annoy the heck out of me. So far this is the worst school I have ever been in.
Posted by a community member on 2/16/2021It's an Ok education, and I really do like some teachers, however, the lack of a good school environment and some teachers who are, not very compassionate, make the experience not good for a school.
Posted by a student on 3/11/2018Honestly to be honest and get to the point the school is a good school, but only people who actually want to make a chance, show leadership, be the good ones tend to succeed
Posted by a student on 5/31/2017My children have really done well at Lanier. They appreciate the many hands-on learning opportunities and how well technology is utilized. Teachers are flexible and easily approachable. Very diverse student population and nice sense of community among students.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our second year at Mashburn Elementary and we love it. There is very welcoming envirnonment and it is very nice to see the happy faces of the children each morning when they arrive to school. There is a big sense of community and that is what we love. The school is diverse and the staff works very hard to provide to each child what they need to develope and strive. From the academic perspective, we feel that our daughter is in a good level and we also see her learning while having fun.The other great thing of this school is that it is part of the Dual Lingual Program, so the kids that are part of this program learn english and spanish at the same time. We consider that a huge plus in our child's education.Parent Review1y ago - Settles Bridge Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved to Forsyth because many people think they have a better schools than other countiesThis is our first year with this school and after two weeks in this school, many problems started. First, the school though our daughter was a mentally handicap so they decided to put her in several separate classroom with out letting us know about it. Many emails then meeting but they never explained how did they made that decision. Their facilitator was on and on about this obligation and that obligation, but never once said that she has had no obligated to take her job or leave her job. Then IEP, our daughter received a special need because SSD due to her birth. This speech language pathology was born and raised in Forsyth, just graduated with no experienced and has this job with her county. She was assigned to work with our daughter. She had never communicated with us regarding what so ever about our daughter. Turn out, her case manager and the facilitator have to handle the talk. (may be this pathology is too young to speak). Not only that, in the past 6 months, she teach our daughter about idioms only. We contacted her case manager and the case manger told us that what their team decided for our daughter to learn until the end of school year. Idioms is nice to learn, but that is not a academic or standard form. We can buy a idioms book or download it online for our daughter to practices why do we need a Pathology to teach.Maybe, this Pathology is inventing her own idioms that no one has ever known to teach kids. This school is running with a lot of negative people.Any one want to know about Forsyth County, just email us to find out the true before buy a very expensive house to live. You can rent a house for first year and try out their school before stuck in the situation like us (400k).FYI: a lots of farms and cows are here in Forsyth.Parent Review7y ago - Haw Creek Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has good physical infrastructure but needs to do more in academics. Eg. There are hardly any competitions that Haw creek encourages. We enquired the Math teacher about Math Kangaroo and she was not aware of any such competition. Teachers need to encourage students to participate in Math and science competitions / project work and the school should actively sponsor such competitions. Students should be provided with Laptops/ Tablets by default. The apps which the school district has subscribed to are pretty average. Take cues from nearby Daves Creek…Parent Review9mo ago
