6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMany of the ongoing problems at this school appear to come from a lack of strong leadership. Teachers receive very limited guidance beyond daily lesson requirements. There is little meaningful support for teachers, which has led to high staff turnover. As a result, consistency for students is affected. Several other elementary schools are located nearby, and they report higher teacher retention, stronger student satisfaction, and better academic performance. Families may want to carefully compare all local options before enrolling.Other Review3mo ago18 Reviews - Patrick Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBased on my experience, Old Suwannee Christian School is deeply disappointing and harmful once students reach middle school. While the elementary grades may appear fine, everything goes downhill after that point.Academically, the quality is poor. From what I experienced, most all teachers did not seem properly trained or knowledgeable in the subjects they were teaching. Lessons were confusing, explanations didn’t make sense, and questions often couldn’t be answered clearly. It felt like the teachers themselves didn’t fully understand what they were talking about, which left students frustrated and unprepared. The school also does not offer special education services, meaning students who need additional academic or learning support are completely overlooked. Instead of helping students succeed, the school makes those who struggle feel like they are the problem.Socially, the environment is extremely judgmental. If you’re not involved in sports or don’t go to church there, you’re treated as if you don’t belong or are “weird.” Athletics are pushed heavily, and students with different interests are not respected or encouraged. There is very little room for individuality. The hypocrisy is overwhelming. The school constantly preaches Christian values like kindness and love, yet many students are treated with judgment, favoritism, and unfairness. Personal convictions are pushed onto students as rules—for example, girls being criticized for wearing pants, even though that is a personal belief, not something that should be forced on others. Instead of teaching respect for differences, the school enforces its own opinions. Overall, in my opinion, Old Suwannee Christian School is racist, hypocritical, and mean-spirited, especially toward middle school students who don’t fit their narrow expectations. It is not a safe, supportive, or inclusive environment. I would strongly warn parents to think carefully before enrolling their children past elementary school.Other Review4mo ago17 Reviews - Sugar Hill Christian Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school has many positives- uniforms, small classes, praise and worship, textbooks and a clean, beautiful school. But the school is a business. Their priorities are protecting their teachers and staying in business. They want the advanced, academically gifted child. If you want a small school with advanced curriculum, this is your school. It is better than public schools for most things, but if your child needs extra help or detailed teaching, you will need to go elsewhere or get outside tutoring, testing and resources.Parent Review5y ago13 Reviews
