North Mitchell County Elementary School

I agree the school is the best that Mitchell county has to offer but the staff is unbelievable. Most of them act like little snob nose high school girls. The vice principal is a joy. There is some work that could be done to make the so much better I think that some of the staff needs to get it together and if you don't want to teach or be bother with kids and making sure they get top of the line education then you need to move out of the way and allow a teacher to teach that has passion and wants every child to excel! We have two children in this school. One of which has Autism, adhd, reading disabilities and learning disabilities. We have multiple letters from drs and psychologists recommending that our daughter have an IEP. This school absolutely refuses to do so. If youre a white family they have no issues handing out an IEP. If you come from a biracial family. They dont. Its like they pick and choose what children they will help. They also have a 7th grade math teacher that hands out homework, if the kids make an ATTEMPT to do their homework it is an automatic 100. It Doesnt matter if the answers are wrong. Its solely because they tried. This school is horrible if you have mixed children with special needs. The school psychologist also told us that she didnt think our daughter (whom she never met or spoke to) had autism but our daughter has a diagnosis of being on the autism spectrum.
