KIPP Strive Primary

Finch Elementary school is truly a diamond in the rough in the Westend of Atlanta. I have found the school to be full of caring and dedicated teachers and staff who go over and beyond the call of duty to ensure that all students learn and exprience academic success. The building is clean and bright. I am happy to have met the staff and leadership of Finch Elementary school.

Our scholars are entering into first grade and this will be their 3rd year here. All of our home room teachers have been receptive of any/all assistance given. A lot of STEAM enrichment programs from hydroponics to chickens! Administration seems receptive to feedback and community engagement.

Beecher is an absolute treasure! My daughter is thriving and wakes up excited to go to school every single day. The teachers and staff pour so much love, energy, and encouragement into everything they do — it’s like a second family. The school is full of life, creativity, and fresh ideas that keep the kids engaged and inspired. Throughout the year, I’ve been constantly amazed by how dedicated the staff is to helping every child succeed, I was compelled to extend my support so I joined PTA and serve as Secretary of the Board 2025-2026. I couldn’t be prouder that my daughter is a Beecher Bee — and her sister can't wait to join her this fall as well!

My son just finished up his 3rd year at Gideons. I have worked in education and I know a hard working group of people when I see them. The past 3 years have gone well for us with minor hiccups. There is no perfect school. My son has been able to join the gifted group to enhance his learning. I chose to enter the Kindezi lottery because I liked the model of small class sizes, I believe this has been very beneficial for my child. Staff have also gone above and beyond to help me with identifying things to work on at home. All children receive a chromebook and they are able to provide assignments on sick days. This is a team effort. They are also intentional about having families come in the school for academic events, PTA meetings and other meetings where parents are able to express concerns and engage in planning. We receive regular communication and they have after school support for those who need it. I am happy with my decision thus far. The principal is from the community, he is invested and it shows. Although my child is a car rider, I really appreciate seeing him walking the neighborhood with large groups of kids after school, which happens pretty often. The resource officer and other car rider staff are attentive and ensure the safety of the children.

My son and I had a great experience at this school. When we moved on to another school he excelled and is far ahead of his peers. I attribute this to 3 things; parent involvement early on in his learning, Early Head Start for children ages 0-5 at Easter Seals Early Learning Center and Gate City School. Gate City School prepared him for Kindergarten and he was reading well. He was able to help one of his peers in kindergarten learn read and write his alphabet. He was ready for 1st/2nd grade math in kindergarten.
