Sherwood Acres Elementary School

My children never complain about not wanting to go to school. They love going. Every teacher they have had are very loving, caring, understanding and helpful. We are a military family and were welcomed by all. I love the education the kids get from the school. Reading is very important at this school. Which is great! Definitely recommend this school.

Since enrolling our child, who has special needs, we have had nothing but problems out of this school. They will not keep him at school long enough for him to be evaluated and get an IEP done, now they're kicking him off the bus, and we don't have another way to get him to school.

I have a daughter who attended her 4th and 5th grade years and a stepdaughter who is an upcoming senior at this school. I love this school! The school is very structured and he children are well-behaved. I will not lie to you--the kids have a lot of homework and projects throughout the year, but it makes the kids more self-disciplined, responsible, and active in their learning. Both of my girls came from a regular public school and did not have a clue on how to write in cursive. Within a month, both of them were writing in cursive smoothly! The only concern I have is the bullying among students on a couple of occasions. I do believe this problem needs to be addressed with parents, students, and teachers.The teachers are well-qualified and patient with their students. I love the principal and his administration staff! If you are ready to be involved in your patient's learning, then this is the school for you! If you want a more structured and responsible child, then this is the school for you! I would highly recommend this school to anyone! GO LEMS LIONS!!!

We have a 2nd grader and a K3 at this school, and we are beyond delighted with their education and overall experience. The teachers and staff not only focus on academic excellence but also genuinely care about each child’s personal growth. The school consistently enhances its educational and facility offerings every year, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement. The lower student-to-teacher ratio is a significant advantage, fostering confidence and engagement in our children. We have observed how the teachers nurture and celebrate each child’s achievements and good behaviors, involving parents in a respectful and approachable manner. It’s a great community where compassion, values, and leadership skills are integrated into every aspect of learning. Truly a great team and a great school!

The school is horrible. They lied and said they help with special NEEDS and they don’t. He came in with a 504 but it wasn’t recognized or was it used. My son doesn’t accept change well due to disability. He was told to remove an earring on the 17th and kicked out on the 18th. The assistant principal threatened me over the phone. I told her I would call the cops she said it was a threat and my son was kicked out. I called the cops to get my son things and he was refused them. They mailed his things and it’s about 30$ worth of his things in the box and we spent over 200$ for school supplies that they still have. This place has no GOD in them. Keep your child away. They want you to follow a handbook but they don’t. Runnnnn
