Inwood Elementary School

I am extremely disappointed and concerned with how this school has handled multiple situations involving my son. On several occasions, they have failed to notify me about incidents that put him in danger — including putting him on a bus after another student punched him. The lack of communication and accountability is completely unacceptable.Instead of making sure my child feels safe and supported, the staff has repeatedly accused him of things he didn’t do. In one case, they even reviewed video footage that proved he was innocent — and all they said was “sorry.” No apology to him, no effort to fix the situation, and no plan to prevent it from happening again.To make matters worse, I just found out that my son has four referrals that no one from the school ever contacted me about. As a parent, I should be informed immediately about any disciplinary issues, but that has not happened.My son is being treated like the problem when, in reality, he’s the one being mistreated and made to feel like a criminal in an environment that should be protecting him. This school has completely failed to provide a safe, fair, and supportive learning environment — and as a parent, I’m heartbroken and furious that this is how they are handling the children in their care.

If I could give 0 star, I would. Teachers are very irresponsible and careless. My child was bullied, threaten to bring money or they would hit her, and though she tried many times to speak to her teacher, she was told to “sit down”. The problem was escalated to the principal and we were promised nothing bad would happen, she was hit by the same bully kid the next day. Yet they have not done a single thing to either discipline the bully, nor the teacher that neglected my child when she asked for help. I will report this matter to the school district. This is unacceptable!

So many people praise it yet when I sent my child it was nothing but devastation. The days became long and impossible to get through. The teachers had little to no empathy or care for their students. I made my child’s teacher aware of an illness and if it was to occur to call me immediately, my request was ignored and my child suffered. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the only time my child suffered at the exspense of Grace. Not only did they ignore my requests when it came to their health but they also refused to listen when my child cried for help. The bullying became so severe and after speaking with not only the teacher but the principle as well nothing was done. I was told my child was the problem. It becomes a problem when a child looses their voice and can no longer speak up for themselves because they know that they will have no support and no one who will stand up for them. If your child is bullied at Grace it will not stop and they will victim blame.They have a lack of discipline and understanding of discipline, they show favoritism and make it very clear when a child is not liked to not only the child themself but also to the parents.Grace lacks accommodations and compassion. Each child has specific needs but they do not care. They will not accommodate your child whether they have a diagnosis or just need a little extra help. Grace will ignore your request as a parent and they will make your child suffer. Emotionally, academically, anyway imaginable. If your child does not fit their mold then your child will be belittled and ridiculed. I have nothing good to say about this school!!!! If you have an exceptional child, one who you want to be molded into their own person, one you want to be kind and that you want to be treated with the respect that they deserve….DO NOT I repeat DO NOT go to Grace!

Pro-So far St. Joe's is great! Our daughter just finished PreK 3 and she has learned so much! We can't wait for next year and the years to come. It is such a blessing that our daughter gets to go to a school where she can get a higher education and learn about God at the same time. All the staff and teachers treat you and your child(ren) like family and the school is well secured to keep all children and staff safe. Con-Wish the school had more parking open during school hours. The car line pick up process is inefficient and frustrating.

There has been an extreme teacher turnover in the past 4 years. A particular end of year exam was not given, because the students did not learn what was required. One teacher told my child not to have their parents email her because she would not respond. My child also corrected her math teacher regarding math problems on two occasions. Elementary was good minus the teacher turnover, and my child having 4 teachers in one year/grade. So much has changed at this school. I would have given this school 5 stars back in 2019 and prior. This being said, I think there are some really good teachers there, but they also have some that are definitely not worth the tuition!
