New River Elementary School

This school is ridiculous. Staff is lazy and lacks any sort of motivation it seems. Little to no oversight of students it would seem from what my child experiences. They definitely seem to play "favorites". They way they run the classroom is horrible, half the students sit with the teacher and learn whilst the other half is set to work independently and told not to bother the teacher. There's a good reason test scores are so poor. If you can avoid it definitely do you and your child the favor.

I feel like my son should be able to do anything he wants. I don’t know why he gets punished for saying and doing what he feels.

My one child started at k-4 we had such a great experience (pre k teacher is awesome -Jennifer Miller) I decided to enroll for kindergarten and again another great year(Mrs Perez is awesome). I loved how everyone knew my child by name and how personal it is. Staff was very nice except for one person that was at the front and who no longer is(thank God). But, having been there through second grade I have to say the last two years there were not satisfactory at all.. the last two years the teachers were not a great experience . My other child attended 6th grade there. The teacher was great. However the setup for middle school is horrible! It lacking in a lot of areas, severely in the electives department. And technology there is none at this school for any grade! My child hated it. The school is very misleading on what they offer. They advertise that they offer way more then they actually do. There prices are going up tremendously and they are not offerning anything substanal. I did a lot of reasearch finding another school and came to realize that this school is not worth the price.

DO NOT RECOMMEND this school at all and this is my reason why today 09/03 I went to pick up my daughter from school and thank God I was there early to go into the car line as I was waiting I looked to the way the other kids go walking and my daughter was not in the car line section a teacher had mistakenly taken her to the walker section because they are all a bunch of incompetent people , I had to do magic to get out of the car line I lost sight of my daughter called the number no answer I had to crazy park and go into the office she was not there either and after a few screams of where is my daughter the security brought her inside , this experience is terrible and the way they handled it was very very poor I thought I was never going to see my daughter again , we will take this anywhere .
