Read what parents are saying about Robinson High SchoolDid anybody notice the featured student on the bb9 story silent yet flipping the bird at the game? She seems bright and we'll directed. Someone might want to do some damage control before that haunts her. No threat here, just honest concern for her.
Posted by a community member on 1/30/2019My son is a junior in the IB program and loves the school. He not only has interesting classes with great teachers, he is able to enjoy advanced classes like Aerospace Engineering, Physics, and High Level Math. HE is able to take numerous AP courses as well. For a kid that is academically focused, this school is fabulous. In all his years here he has only has one sub-par teacher, but all the others have been phenomenal. The education he has received has prepared him for college and enabled him to dang near ace the SAT. About the only negative we have found with this school, is the amount of busy work that is assigned, particularly over the summer. Most of it (like doing hundred and hundreds of annotations) serves no purpose at all. Overall, this is a great school if you are in the IB program.
Posted by a parent on 11/13/2018Guidance is inadequate. Not prepared this year and unwilling to speak with parents about issues. Have personally seen and heard several staff members complain about parent concerns. Athletic dept. Does not treat all sports/activities with the same fairness. Most teachers seem involved, and i know a lot of patents are as well so I'm not sure what the problem is in administration. Also buses are always late and/or double loaded. That's just my personal experience, my child likes it well enough except for the average 4 hours of homework per night but i guess that's what it takes to get to college.
Posted by a parent on 8/16/2016Robinson has an excellent traditional and IB program. The teachers are very determined and help allow students to excel. It has a small school feel with many excellent programs not offered at other high schools, like the IB program and culinary. The IB program offers private school education without a 20k price tag.
Posted by a student on 5/10/2016The school is overcrowded - desperately needs expansion or hire more teachers. Some classes don't even have enough chairs for students. My son was not able to take foreign language because the school didn't have much to offer and all classes were full. Also the school seems to pay more attention to IB students. School staff are not responsive and rude. The assistant principal doesn't return phone calls. School counselors were not very helpful and answered my questions in very short answer. They also registered my child (freshman) for senior level classes without checking prerequisites. It was a nightmare to change classes because most of classes were full and there weren't much classes for freshman to take. I do not recommend this school.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBallast Point has been a wonderful experience for both of my children. My oldest son with ADHD required a 504 plan for accommodations and the guidance counselor was absolutely incredible and very helpful as we were in uncharted waters planning this. We will forever be grateful for each staff member that has personally helped my two boys succeed. PTA is super great too, the moms and dads do amazing jobs getting everyone involved as much as they can with no pressure at all. My dream was to have this school do K-8 because the middle school is horrendous. Fingers crossed!Parent Review2y ago - Chiaramonte Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSt. Clement Catholic School has been a tremendous blessing for my 5th and 7th graders over the past three years. From the very beginning, we felt welcomed into this amazing community. One of the standout aspects of St. Clement's is undoubtedly its incredible community. The sense of togetherness and support within this school is second to none. From the faculty and staff to the parents and fellow students, it truly feels like a family. Being new to Chicago as well as the school, this welcoming atmosphere made the transition into this school seamless for my children, and it has fostered a sense of belonging that is invaluable to their educational journey. One recent highlight that we absolutely love about St. Clement's is the addition of new academic clubs. These clubs provide students with a wide variety of opportunities to explore their passions and interests. These clubs have allowed my 7th grader to further develop his entrepreneurial skills and knowledge beyond the regular curriculum. Not only are these clubs educational, but they also serve as platforms for students to socialize and collaborate with their peers who share similar interests. Another noteworthy aspect of St. Clement's is the great class sizes. With an ideal teacher-to-student ratio, every child receives the individualized attention they need to thrive academically. This personalized approach ensures that no student gets left behind and that each child's unique strengths and weaknesses are addressed effectively. The teachers at St. Clement's truly go above and beyond to ensure that every student is given the support they need to succeed. Overall, our experience at St. Clement Catholic School has been exceptional. It is a place where educational excellence meets genuine care and belonging. We feel incredibly grateful to be a part of this remarkable school and highly recommend it to any parents seeking a school that prioritizes both academic growth and personal development.Parent Review5mo ago - Lanier Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Leader in Me program has developed my students into leaders. They have grown so much since “finding their voice” and being in leadership roles throughout the school. My kids love to be in school and complain that the breaks are too long because they want to be with their teachers & classmates! In referencing the previous review:All schools are concerned about their school grade and ensuring students are learning & growing. It’s data! We are a small school, and definitely family-like. There will be cliques and not everyone will be bffs, however we aren’t “cold”!Other Review1y ago - Tinker Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageVery poor. We expected so much more from the school being on base. There are very limited extra curriculars, gifted services are practically nonexistent, the middle school classes are in modular buildings, the advanced classes are extremely limited. There is much better environment and community in the local schools. I would not live on base for the sole purpose of going to this school. The ROI does not equate. My children were doing well before we live there, struggled while we were there, and thrived again after leaving. Their test scores were the only thing that stayed on par (mastery levels in all subjects). My children are honor roll, advanced, good citizen type students. I cannot imagine how a child with special needs or behavioral issues would function at this school.Parent Review3y ago - Westshore Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child attended Anderson in 2022, and since then, we relocated to another school district. The elementary school he currently attends is one of the highest-rated public schools in Tampa, and he is performing equally, if not better, achieving honor roll and scoring superior on state exams. My child explained to me that he attributes much of their success to Anderson Elementary School due to its academic excellence and positive classroom environment. He prefers Anderson Elementary School because of the dedicated teachers and the smaller class sizes. He also feels that students at Anderson are better prepared academically.I personally liked Anderson because the staff was friendly and helpful. I simply wanted to share this experience because it clearly highlights how my son's positive personal experience at Anderson outweighs his experience at a highly rated school in the area regardless of what this website may indicate.Parent Review5mo ago - Holy Trinity Lutheran School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school offers a very warm, friendly, inviting, family environment. My daughter comes home each day with lots to discuss and, she is excited about going to school each day. Academically...I am very satisfied, my child is learning above her level. God is truly present in this school environment. The staff is always pleasant, kind and helpful. The children pray constantly throughout the day, with daily Bible teachings. I Thank God for taking me along that route, where I saw the registration sign stating the acceptance of Step Up For Students Scholarship!Parent Review7y ago - Bayshore Christian School
