The office staff, teachers (we've had Mrs. Cacciatore and Mrs. Gray), administration and the PTA are all excellent. We are proud to be a part of the Northwest Elementary family.

Everyone deserves a second chance, and the school has seen many positive changes since then. Relying on old reviews can be misleading and doesn’t reflect the school’s current environment. Over the past decade, Citrus Park Elementary has undergone significant improvements, with new faculty and staff who are dedicated to fostering a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for all students. Based on my own experiences, I can confidently attest to the professionalism, care, and commitment displayed by the office staff, teachers, and leadership. Judging the school based on outdated reviews is unfair, as the team is working diligently to provide the best possible experience for every child. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy husband and I have been really happy with this school! The staff does such a great job keeping the school spirit high and motivating the kids to do their best! Academically and behaviorally. There are so many fun events throughout the year, both for families and just for the students. My kids are always looking forward to the special activities they get to participate in when they earn enough “Cougar Paws”, the school’s currency system. and it keeps them motivated.Pick-up and drop-off is also super efficient (which as a parent is a big deal!). Every teacher and staff member we’ve encountered has been kind, approachable, and genuinely happy to see our kids each day. 9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHammond provides so many special opportunities - First Lego League robotics for 5th graders, Math Bowl (both my son and daughter have competed multiple years, whole grade gets a chance to join via test), wonderful AGP teachers. My daughter is finishing 5th this year and is qualified for double accelerated math at Walker Middle.
