3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGibsonton Elementary has worked VERY hard to improve the school. They have worked with families, students, staff, community members and partners to become a Community School, where all voices are heard as part of their collaborative leadership efforts. Students have more opportunities to be leaders in their education and across the campus. Families are able to participate in frequent (if not monthly) events and have a high-level of communication, participation and partnership with classroom teachers and support staff. Partners and Community members have joined together with the school to increase access for students and staff, while also becoming advocates for the school. Staff have successfully worked with one another and students to increase student learning year-after-year as measured by state and district assessments. The school takes measures to address community and home barriers with a food pantry, clothing closet, hygiene support, Kicks (shoe) for school, Empowering Parents (learning resources for the home), and advocating with the community to create a safety environment for all (such as new streetlights and sidewalks, and partnering with the community to install sewer systems) all with the goal to increase student access to classroom supports, expanded and enriched learning time and create partnership with families. This year the school has peer-to-peer mentorship and more to support students across all grade levels.Teacher Review5mo ago - Riverview Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs the leader of this school, I was extremely concerned when I read this review as this incident was not brought up to my attention, nor my APs. I immediately did some research, and my Media Specialist has no knowledge of this incident, nor do any of my staff. My thinking is this incident happened at another school site in Riverview? I am always available for my parents, students, and staff, so I am asking you to please reach out to me at the school so if this did happen at Riverview Elementary School in Riverview, FL I can rectify the situation. We care for and are here for our children, their safety, happiness, and success. Thank you!Principal Review6mo ago - Bing Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen I went to this school, I experienced bullying and it was severely not dealt with. The teachers play favorites, especially to children who attend the church. I was often humiliated in front of the class for multiple years because I had undiagnosed ADHD with depression. The Christian values they say to uphold are egocentric. Their mindset is very old school, as are their outdated textbooks. They once hired a teacher who had no credentials and touched himself in front of students very casually while teaching. This was not dealt with because the principal did not want to hear about such unclean things. Many students I know lived or went onto live double lives, particularly the men…Other Review4mo ago
