Read what parents are saying about Bartram Trail High SchoolI am a senior at this school, and this school definitely has two faces. For some, this school is a breeze, and has a very nice presentation and fond memories. For others, this school can be hell on earth. Those with learning disabilities are part of that second group. Teachers deny accommodations left, right, and center. There are some that are good, and are helpful, but in mine, and my friends experience, it's not easy. Those who play sports definitely have a free pass when it comes to the standards and are revered by many. I would say I have floated by, testing extremely well, ending up as a International finalist in DECA. Some teachers are still just straight rude, although there are a handful that are well loved and care for their students. A few case managers are absolute saints and help their students immensely.
Posted by a community member on 12/30/2023I am sophomore and this school has already made an impact. Not necessarily a good one, but not necessarily a bad one. Some of the people are just plain rude, the bathrooms have hateful comments on the stall walls, the homework is overwhelming (the teachers just don’t get that we have 6 other classes) and the support is close to none. Now, I’m not saying it’s all bad. I’ve made some really amazing friends here and I’m in the Band and Theater. (SPIRIT OF BARTRAM 4 LIFE) It all depends on your experience. Some days are amazing. Some days are so horrible you don’t ever want to come back. (Also side note, the school has legit 0 substitutes. Whenever the teacher is absent, they sit us in the 9th grade cafeteria with 1 or 2 deans and call it a day) But, this school has helped me achieve so much. I don’t know why I have to take 2 years of a language tho. Well, it just depends on your experience. If you have the worst time ever here, don’t blame this review. If you have the absolute best time ever here, then yes, thank this anonymous writer :). Also ASL 2 FOR LIFE!!! But, yeah. I hope whoever comes here, has a time just as great an I did. But not better then mine tho ;)
Posted by a student on 10/27/2023I am a student currently in my senior year as of now and I am finishing my 4th year here in both the IT and AFJROTC program, the school itself is fine and enjoyable. I can safely say I enjoyed all my years here and nothing about it was outright bad, a few outliers here and there but not enough to be an issue to me.
Posted by a student on 4/12/2023I used to be a student here; the staff was always supportive and always willing to help. The school required to learn about mental illnesses and emotional wellbeing and a lot of the students seemed motivated.
Posted by a community member on 11/6/2022Right now im a student there and all the freshmen are mostly bullies cause they have no friends likely cause they are rude and ignorant by calling me squirrel and just pushing me around for the fun of it so im happy that i get to leave this school next year

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has been absolutely amazing for my 3 kids and I’m grateful we chose this district. We moved here 3 years ago from one of the top districts in the country and I was so nervous… especially since 2 of my kids have an IEP. But every teacher we’ve had so far has exceeded my expectations. Our experience here could not have gone better and I’m thankful every day we chose Timberline Creek.Parent Review1y ago - Hickory Creek Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had four of my kids attend Hickory Creek Elementary in the past four years in all grades. I am a 3rd grade teacher at a k-8 school in the county. We moved here from California and the first major difference was the security that we were completely lacking in San Diego! There is a school resource officer on campus all day, bulletproof glass in the lobby, and computer sign-in and id checks. They are so secure that they won't let anyone in the building if they are not cleared in the district's system. We loved Dr. Reichenberg, who was the former principal, but absolutely love Mrs. Gonzalez, who was the new principal this year. She brought a terrific musical theater program to the school this year and intends on continuing with theater as a signature for the school. The school is very small and calm, compared to the K-8's going up all around St. Johns County. The classrooms are large and the campus is impeccably clean. The culture of teachers seems to be enthusiastic, supportive, kind and happy and I have not once had an issue with any of the teachers or staff. The cafeteria is large, clean and not too loud. There are several playgrounds with mulch that the kids love and a large outdoor covered basketball pavilion for PE. The school set-up is very cool, as it has "houses" where classes are in pods with a huge common area equipped with a kitchen, sinks for washing hands and tables for gathering, and all the classrooms surround the common area. There are around 5 of these areas if I recall correctly. If your child walks to school, there are crossing guards on the main road to make sure the kids are safe coming from any direction, as well as a police officer guiding traffic. There are sidewalks in all directions so it is very easy for students to walk to school. Parent drop off/pickup seems to move pretty quickly and busses are always the first to get to the school in the morning and first to leave. All in all, I would highly recommend this school.Parent Review1y ago - San Juan Del Rio Catholic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSan Juan del Rio Catholic School is the only environment I want for my children. San Juan offers a Christian based environment with high academic expectations. All of my children went to High School prepared and on the College with skills for success. The teachers show that they care by communicating with parents and are willing find solutions for each child. The families are SJDR are warm and inviting. SJDR offers enrichments programs, as well as academic support for those who need it. Athletic teams are offered for 5th through 8th grade. All children take Music, Art and Spanish every week.Parent Review9y ago - River Oak Academy
