J. H. Workman Middle School

This school has changed within the years. Twice our child has come home with injuries and no one called during the day. Then you have teachers that are punishing kids for ridiculous things and taking it off their grade and I'm not talking about talking in class. There is also been bullying against a female student. The teacher did nothing about it. Also we I never notified early as far as pictures are any events going on at the school. As soon as possible we are moving two kids from this school.

My family loves Cordova Park! My child has been here for 4 years and has received so much help from so many amazing teachers and school personnel. My child has received help with speech, phonics, fluency, occasional counseling, and has had impactful teachers. My child has struggled with reading until this year. Everything has finally seemed to click thanks to all the support and guidance! Couldn't have asked for a better start in his/her journey!

This school has terrible staff. They are rude for no reason do not greet you, always have an attitude, rolls their eyes every time you come up to the front desk to ask something, Will not respond or speak first to you unless you repeat your self multiple times. The bus transit it always terrible! They have many busses that run late or are subs and they just drive past the stop. The school won’t do anything about it and the Escambia transit won’t either. My kids watched the bus just drive past them for a week straight! I called multiple times about it and it and they just stopped answering. They have attended for 3 years now and the school is getting worse every year.

Do not sub here. The principal will just make up lies to the district and get you blocked from subbing here. The admin staff in the front office is almost always rude and act as if they don’t want to be at work half of the time. There’s no support from the office/admin staff. I’ve only been appreciated by the teachers. I’ve had quite a few teachers even thank me for being there for their coworkers while also telling me they’re surprised I even showed up because this school has a problem with subs showing up. Though the teachers are nice, don’t expect to your child to learn much here. The students are literally being put on laptops/ipads all day doing iready or some type of online teaching program. There’s little to no actual instructional teaching done here. Send your children to Cordova park. A much better school in my honest opinion.

The car rider line starts at 7:30 but breakfast stops getting served at 7:45. They will still have car riders lined up outside and refuse those kids breakfast, due to something on their behalf. The most unprofessional car rider line I’ve ever seen. Denying kids food because they cannot figure out how to properly move the car line. I’ve spoke to many other parents and they have had the same issue, including ones from years ago.

My husband and I love this school community. We actually moved away for a time and moved back for our children to attend Trinitas again. We have nothing but good things to say.
