Manatee School For The Arts

Without my approval, my child was put into honors classes. Having disabilities, this never should have happened without my consent. It will cause more harmful stress. Does not matter what a test score says. You talk to a parent. In order to have schedule changed, my child will lose their art classes. Apparently these classes are full during all other times of the day. Whole reason we are at MSA is for the art classes. Now we are stuck with a stressful year. Ridiculous.

The school offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities as well as electives that inspire creativity and foster independence. My daughter is working on building her confidence and she made major improvements while at this school. She participated in a dance group, drumming band, and a school play which helped her become more outgoing and challenge herself. The school staff is welcoming and responsive to any questions and concerns. School counselors are always available for students to come in and discuss any troubles they may have. Safety is top-notch providing constant surveillance and security officers throughout the campus as well as monthly drills (fire, hurricane, intruder, and active shooter). Overall we are very pleased with the curriculum and care provided for the kids.

My daughters love this school. It offers a lot of electives, and the teachers are wonderful. They speak very highly of most of the teachers but specially of the history teachers and math. The guidance counselors for dual enrollment or college classes are very caring and helpful, working above and beyond to help the students.

What a joke of a school, or zoo would be a better definition. Teachers allow students to bully/harass other students in the classroom and do nothing. Administration is no different, take your report and put it in the "to do" pile. Would not recommend this school at all, better off sending your children anywhere else.
