Palm City Elementary School

My children have been part of Bessey Creek Elementary since 2016, and our experience over the years has been truly wonderful. The teachers, administration, and PTA are all dedicated and supportive, creating an environment where kids can grow and thrive. One of the things I love most is the strong sense of community. There are a bunch of fun events the PTA organizes every year, like a family school dance, seasonal festivals, and Sailfish Splash Day. The school also offers a great variety of after-school clubs each semester and brings in cool experiences like science shows and assemblies that make learning exciting. It’s a school that makes learning fun and brings families together in the best way.

My children have attended this school for some time, so this review comes from long-term experience, not a one time interaction. I want to be fair this school is not entirely bad. My oldest child has had some positive experiences, including an excellent 5th grade teacher, and overall has been treated better. However, my experience with my younger child has been very different, and it’s concerning.As a parent of mixed children in a school where diversity is limited, I have noticed a difference in how my darker-skinned child is treated. He has experienced ongoing issues with bullying, including being picked on and subjected to racial slurs that were not properly addressed. I have reported multiple incidents involving the same student, yet the issues continue to repeat themselves after only a short time. It has been frustrating to feel like these concerns are not being taken seriously or resolved in a meaningful, lasting way.Additionally, there have been concerns with classroom management and respect from at least one teacher, which has added to the overall negative experience for my child. Every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and protected at school. I hope this school takes these concerns seriously and works toward creating a more inclusive and responsive environment for all students.

My daughter has attended Bridges for 12 years, from Toddler through 8th grade. It has been the most amazing experience of education that I could ever dream up. I wish I could have gone to this school! They are focused on always bringing out the best in all their students, on teaching responsibility, and creating a safe learning environment for everyone! My daughter loves it there so much, that even though they don't have a 9th grade (yet) she wants to stay there next year! I would give them 10 stars if I could!!!

This school will create a God focused individual with all the academic prowess needed to continue into high school, and the Biblical stability to help navigate that path. Teachers hold students accountable, and expect (especially middle school) students to behave as respectful, responsible humans, while allowing students to be kids as well. Highly recommended the school to anyone.
