Westridge Middle School

During the 2025–2026 school year, both of my sons attended this school for kindergarten and first grade. Unfortunately, our experience has not been positive.As an African-American family with children who are not bilingual, we encountered ongoing challenges. Communication was often difficult, as many staff members primarily spoke Spanish, which created barriers in both understanding and supporting my children’s learning.Throughout the year, I made consistent efforts to stay involved, but I struggled to have clear and respectful communication with staff and teachers. This made it harder to effectively advocate for my children and ensure they were receiving the support they needed.Because of these experiences, I will be withdrawing my children at the end of the school year. I would encourage other parents who are highly involved in their child’s education to carefully consider whether this school will meet their needs

My child has been here for the last couple of years and it has been a pleasure. One of the areas that I appreciate the most is their communication and the care and support they give my child. This year they started a new program that has really helped my child who has struggled in the past. My child's teacher gives her one-on-one tutoring as needed. My child is not just a number she feels heard and feels important. I highly recommend this school and give a big shoutout to all the teachers that work day in and day out with our kids.

I am grateful to choose this school

I really hope this school has changed. My child attended a few years ago and experienced ongoing bullying that was not addressed, and some of the staff also behaved inappropriately and unprofessionally. The situation affected my child so much that we needed to seek therapy. I honestly only feel comfortable talking about this now, six years later — imagine that. I even emailed the archdiocese at the time, and they told me to speak with the principal or vice principal, but nothing was being done and the leadership felt very poor. When I tried to escalate the issue to leadership at the school, nothing meaningful changed. The only positive part of the school was a few kind teachers and staff members. Based on our experience, I would personally recommend considering other schools such as Cornerstone or St. Jame, or even other Christian or charter schools.
