It’s a good school over all. My daughter is very smart has top 8% in the nation and they can’t accommodate her with a gifted teacher
Posted by a parent on 7/8/2024We have had a great experience, this far. Administration not perfect, but the past three years have been fine. I will hope we get a teacher with more experience. It seems we get new hires of transfers. I hope for someone embedded in Deerwood.
Posted by a parent on 8/7/2022We have three children who will benefit from this awesome school. One is graduated and two are current students. We love the teachers at Deerwood. Most of them have a heart for kids and teaching!

You can actual feel the tension with the current Administration and the teachers that wasn't there before. Posted by a parent on 7/29/2019This is not a place that puts all students first. This school is lucky because it's small and most parents are involved, so the teachers have it easy. If your child struggles, don't expect them to improve at this school.

They don’t care about the mental health and well-being of the kids. Ever response back in a meeting was simply catered and tailored around testing. These kids have a lot of pressure on them as it is to perform for these exams. At the end of the year Mr. longhouse is not fit to run school. Sometimes people in higher positions need to take a step back and maybe think about doing something else in education. Being a principal, you should have certain characteristics such as caring, understanding, and sympathy. Unfortunately, he lacks all three.
