Lake Weir High School

The school is a decent school. The school is not the best I have been to. Not only me but a ton more of students disprove of the new principal for 2016-2017. The dress code is more of a priority there than how well the teachers teach, how nice the bathrooms look. I went to go to the bathroom in building 4 down strairs, womens bathroom closest stall to the sink and there was a huge cockroach stairing at me while doing my business. The teachin is very poor. Most of the educators i have encountered during freshman and sophomore year teach very poorly, they dont make sure you comprehend the concept, therefore the people attending lake weir fail. Another thing is i wanted a family member i haven't seen in a long time wanted to have lunch with me, sadly wasnt allowed to regarding the campus being a "closed campus" The front desk attendednt, Ms. Gonzales I believe her name is, is very rude and disrespectful. The school, teachers amd rules need a very different way of thinking and processing for students to enjoy attending there last 4 years here.

I'm currently a senior. I went to lake weir my freshman and sophomore year and I love the teachers and the jrotc program. Im So proud to have purple and gold running though my veins. Even though I'm not there I'm a cane for life. This is a great school and great accepting people.

I'm a freshman over there and I absolutely love this school! I got excepted right away and I am right now in the pre-IB program over there! I love the band and the colorguard or drill team whatever they are called! They are absolutely amazing and that is what Lake Weir is known for is because of the IB program and the Marching Canes . The only problem I have at Lake Weir is that some of the teachers don't teach properly, it's mostly the honors teachers that don't because they just expect for you to jump right in and know all of it. Which is not a great way for a student to learn. But it's an amazing school! The school could improve by getting a new varsity football coach but that's about it besides talking to the teachers about their lesson plans!

I'm a parent of a sophmore,in this school, great teachers,not problem at all, only thing dont like the recepcionist at the administration office not friendly and always driving like a maniac trying to get to school on time .

I am a sophmore at Lake Weir High School enrolled in the Pre-IB program. October of 2008 I transferred from North Marion High School to Lake Weir, and I must say I was welcomed and immediatley felt at home. The teachers and staff really have a handle on things and it's such a loving community I couldn't imagine myself else where. Going to school takes a burden away rather than creating one. Especially being in the Pre-IB program, things can get hetic, but you have so much support from the school. I adore it.
