Laurel Oak Elementary School

The Counselor of this school has no professionalism, instead of helping the children what she does is make them feel guilty. The worst experience that has happened to my child is this school.

My experience was the worst. I do not recommend it, much less to Latino parents. ENCA has bee great for all of my children. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My children have done both VPK and wrap around care for several years now and I love the school. The instructors are always communicative and helpful if I have questions or concerns. The leadership staff has always been open and willing to help with any questions or concerns I have. I would recommend this school to anyone!

The school does not value academic success. They are way too easy on the students, especially in middle school. They have a no homework policy which harms the students and prevents them from learning. The academic rigor and encouragement to push students to work and learn is not there. A majority of the students do not value hard work or education. I would send your child elsewhere, especially for middle school. There a few teachers who are really good and value learning and want to teach students how to work and learn, but the administration does not seem to value that. Also, the field trips are very expensive. They cater to a certain crowd.

My granddaughter 2 and 7 both go to this school. My 7 year old has gone since she was 8 months old. I think the program is perfect for my grand children and I am beyond thrilled to see what the dedication, hard work and support this school offer the children and the parents. It may not be for everyone, but I feel this alternative schooling works out for our family. I only pray that when it is time for middle school and high school we can continue this teaching. Public schooling will never be an option for us, so if anyone has any concerns about this type of education you should take the time and sit with the professionals at this school to obtain a lesson in the importance of this criteria.

We felt unfairly "pushed out" of this school. Called very early in the year for vpk. 6 months in advance and was told to early. Called again at 3 months early same response. I expressed my concerns for him getting in on time. Was reassured It was to early and to call back. Finally calling a month in advance I was told someone would call me back.. Never got a call. I called again was told there were no more spots available. !!?

Amazing school. Staff and teachers really care about their students.
