The staff at this school truly care about the students success. They have many challenges in the immediately community but handle it well.

I am a former student at Golden Gate, with my youngest sibling still attending. This school is always pushing to be better in all areas. They consistently provide programs to better yourself, whether your pathway is trade, education, or, to some extent, sport. Fast forward I have graduated with my bachelors and am still connected with many old teachers. I also offer to connect with their students, mainly because of the impact I know the instructors look to make.I didn't get to decide my school, but I'm very proud to claim my alma mater!-Arcaim Lallemand

As ethics go worst school ever they have no idea how to abide by section 407 or how to handle disabled children they allow and encourage bullying even if they say they have a zero policy numerous children are sent to therapy over the school and now suffer with post-traumatic stress disorder due to the high number of bullying cases

I have never seen a school with teachers that care more about their students. This institution puts character and respect at the center of their education for kids, and thus the culture of the school and the high integrity of the kids shines through. Anyone can teach the basics, but it is that “how to be a respectable and honorable human” part that is missing in many schools. I also love the balance of analog and digital to ensure kids learn applicable skills and not just letting the computer do it.

Former student of 11 years. This school does not do anything to help their students. I was in honors classes, if I had a question about something I was talked to like an idiot. When an entire class did badly on a test the teacher proceeded to blame the students instead of their own teaching. The bullying policy of horrible. Students have complained about being picked on or physically harmed, but if the student was popular, rich, or (dare I say) white, absolutely NOTHING was done.Classes have gotten political over left or right, claiming it’s for the real world when they’re only sharing the view from their personal political party. An ex-teacher even had a shrine of a president on display in their classroom and around their desk.While they do have Catholic education, you could find it elsewhere. This school does not show a loving and Catholic community, and it seems that the students have more control than the school claims to be. Side note: there is subtle racism and incredible body shaming in the classroom among students.Try out other schools before going here. Out of 11 years at that school, almost all of the teachers have left and moved schools because of the lack of control or the poor policies they have. Their “mission statement” is not accurate to what they do. Overall do not recommend. If you want to go to SJN try another feeder school.
