Read what parents are saying about Oakhurst Elementary SchoolOakhurst Elementary is not a supportive environment for special needs families and students. The Principal has run dozens of families out of the Pinellas County school system because of her punitive and cruel interpretations of allowing therapists to assist children inside the school. Many of these families, already struggling, are stressed and thirsty for any type of help for their children will not find it at Oakhurst Elementary. It's important to mention, many of the teachers and support staff do NOT agree with the harsh policies enacted by the Principal.
Posted by a parent on 1/29/2023My daughter is only in Kindergarten, but I would be lucky for her to have the quality experience she gets at Oakhurst throughout her entire school career! We love Oakhurst!! The teachers and staff are amazing, the parental involvement is high, and the events and activities for the kids are perfect.
Posted by a parent on 4/12/2018Oakhurst is a very good elementary school with fabulous teachers that go above and beyond for the kids. It's a great learning environment. We had two kids go to Oakhurst.
Posted by a parent on 7/31/2017Oakhurst is a very community oriented school. The parent involvement with all activities, and the teachers is phenomenal. The organization of the school is superb, the principal is very involved, always leading the school and greeting parents. We moved from a charter school to Oakhurst, and I wish my children had gone to Oakhurst since Kindergarten. The kids have fun and look forward to the Mustang Roundups each month. They have different community and school events that helps to involve everyone in the school.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved to Seminole specifically so our child could attend Bauder Elementary, and I am so happy that we did! Bauder goes above and beyond in ensuring students’ academic success. The teachers are communicative and supportive and aren’t afraid to go the extra mile to make sure the kids achieve their full potential. My child has made wonderful friends and loves the staff and teachers! There is excellent communication from administration and leadership, and there are many engagement and enrichment activities for family and friends. I feel confident that my child is receiving the best possible education at Bauder Elementary.Parent Review1y ago - Ridgecrest Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy student attended both general education and the gifted program in this school for a year and a half. The teachers and administration were engaged, supportive and responsive. Some of the students (probably only around 10%) have difficult home lives, are disruptive, contentious and difficult to socialise with. The teachers who are able to maintain order have enjoyable classes and it isn’t hard for kids to learn, make friends and feel safe. My student had one of these teachers and also had one (substitute) that would not or could not maintain order. This second situation was more difficult and my student did not feel safe in class. Nothing was learned that semester. This problem is compounded by lack of funding for the school. Teachers could not be found and when hired, they left to take higher paying jobs at nearby schools.Luckily, we were able to test for gifted and leave the substitute teacher and rough classmates. The gifted program has amazing teachers and very smart students. It is an overall excellent program. There isn’t much homework in the gifted program and gifted students do not mix with the general education students. If this is the kind of program you are looking for, I would recommend it. If you want your child in general education to socialise with “regular people” then any child with a reasonable public school background should be able to attend here with few problems.Parent Review4mo ago - Largo Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhere to start. This year was a myriad of changes that drastically affected our worklife and homelife. IRCS raised tuition in just 3 years over $4,000 per student in differing grades. They have no plans of stopping the increases also after explaining they plan to raise millions more in the next few years for “projects”. In addition to raising tuition drastically, they changed school start and stop times, eliminated after school drop off care, lost a ton of staff, eliminated the ability to choose weekly summer school program (instead they made parents pay for 7 weeks entirely), regularly carry out group punishments grade wide while not notifying parents of issues they’re attempting to correct with these actions, administrators ignore emails and concerns of parents and many teachers have odd methods of discipline. There is a culture of tattle-tailing that will inevitably get your children disciplined for something another student reports to teachers. Administration also admit they don’t directly witness the behavior they punish all of the time. Grandparents day was a disaster with “safety concerns” amid their overzealous new safety protocol. Many more changes are on the horizon. A school with too much demand but not enough accountability to the parents for poor choices that will drastically affect you. Avoid this school.Parent Review1mo ago - Country Day School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is the most racist of schools I've ever witnessed. They are not there for the betterment or enrichment of the children, but rather for obtaining status and preferably that of the Caucasian racial status. Do not send your children to this school, your child will be bullied, profiled and exiled!!Parent Review1y ago - Indian Rocks Christian School
