Valleyview Elementary School

Very sweet little school. Office staff knows you when you walk in.Teachers are nice and wiling to work with parents. Very happy here. My 2nd grader is right on task..

Principal durham is quick to hang up on you if she doesn't agree with your argument before really listening. I dont appreciate that to say she is a good principal.

i am so grateful to this school and everything they have done to ensure my child’s success. he was at a different school last year and really struggled. in the beginning of the year i had a meeting with his teacher and guidance counselor at the time to go over some accommodations that could potentially help him, but there was never any follow up or communication as his grades and behavior continued to plummet. after moving to the area i enrolled my son into highlands grove, and oh my gosh what a difference this school has made. i had the same kind of meeting with his current teachers and guidance counselor as i did at his previous school, only this time everyone was very receptive and actually willing to listen to what i had to say. not only did they listen, but they made a genuine effort to see what works for him and make those small changes which ended up making such a huge difference. his behavior is better than it has ever been, and he even made the A+ honor roll on his most recent report card!!this school has truly been an absolute blessing in more ways than one.

This school relies on IPad learning to teach students and they skew averages to make students appear to be on level, when really their “on level” is remedial. There is no organization to the pick up/drop off area, so it’s the most time consuming and poorly managed car line I’ve ever seen. Standards compared to Hillsborough county are sub par on all levels. Bully is an issue here as well.
