Read what parents are saying about Montessori Children's SchoolWhat a safe, welcoming and engaging place! Montessori Children's School gave my kids a great foundation. They are self-directed, respectful and empathetic individuals. It's a whole-child education. I continue to be surprised at what they learned about their world at MCS.
Posted by a parent on 7/6/2022This school is amazing. It is nothing like you have ever experienced in the educational world. The campus is covered in a beautiful canopy of trees and the classrooms are in restored conch houses. Every person on campus from the staff to the families and children are kind and respectful. My son received an amazing education and left with more knowledge and experience than I could have ever imagined possible.
Posted by a parent on 6/28/2022I had the pleasure of spending several days at the Montessori Children's School of Key West in May. While I've known the school for many years, I had the opportunity to get an inside look at the culture and educational program from early morning to the end of the day in every classroom. The setting is absolutely adorable. The school’s leadership is admirable. The current head of school, Amy O'Connor, went to the school as a child and has been part of the school as a parent, teacher, and, for the last eight years, as the school’s administrator. She is knowledgeable, dedicated, and beloved. I found the teachers, children, and families to be a lovely community. I highly recommend the school to anyone with a child from age 1-1/2 to 12 who is considering a move to Key West or is already part of the community. This is a great little school. This is the sort of school most of us wish we had attended.
Posted by a community member on 6/28/2022The Montessori Children's School has a beautiful campus in Key West, FL. Made up of toddler, primary, and elementary programs, each has it's own outside area and separate buildings as well as a main office and administrative office. This is not just "childcare" but a school that helps foster the children's natural learning skills and creates a sense of community among the staff and families. They offer educational nights for parents and hold cultural events throughout the school year, among many other wonderful programs and enrichments. It's a quality education that encourages creativity and kindness in children ages 18 months through 6th grade. We have loved our experience at The Children's School.
Posted by a parent on 6/28/2022My son has been attending the Montessori Children's School of Key West for three years. He completed his entire Primary education there, and I couldn't be happier with the education and experience he has had. The campus is unique and inviting, the staff are dedicated and professional, and genuinely care about all the children as individuals. My son received a very personalized classroom experience which encouraged him to excel in his strengths and work through his challenges. And he enjoyed it. The school is a very tight community that cares about each and every family. I would definitely recommend this school for anyone seeking a Montessori education for their child.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI used to go to this school and my experience was not as bad as my little brother. I was bullied by the other students sometimes when the teachers SHOULD have saw it and was often confused by the messy learning system. However for my little brother not only has he been bullied by students but by a teacher as well A GROWN ADULT would mock him and yell at him for every little thing he has done despite him being a child and the worst part is when he'd try to talk to the office people they would NEVER listen to his side of the story even the one person I had a good terms with when I used to go there would tell him to shut up every time he'd try to talk to him who would then send him home causing his grades to drop. I sense discrimination but it could be them just being lazy at their job regardless of if they can't even LISTEN to a child when they try to speak for themselves, they should not have this job in the first place.Other Review9mo ago - Poinciana Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagegood school.one thing that can be done away with is the rude wanna-be officer who harasses older people picking up their children and grandkids and putting the students in danger worried more about the fire lane situation...i am very pleased that there is a kwpd officer at the school full-time who engages with the teachers and parents and uses common sense when situations arise....the wanna-be officer uses "selective enforcement" of her own and i feel she is not needed in that she serves no purpose whatsoever at the schoolOther Review5y ago - May Sands Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePlease don't listen to the negative reviews, my daughter has been at this school for 3 years now and it has been the most positive experience. The learning curriculum is geared to set your child up for success and the principal and staff are the most kind and compassionate leaders and teachers a child (and parent) could ask for. I love that faith is the foundation of their teaching principles and my child has thrived in their care.Parent Review2mo ago - The Basilica School
