My middle schooler attended Twin Lakes Elementary from kindergarten to 5th grade, and her sister is a student there now since kindergarten. I am baffled and deeply concerned by the low rating of the school. My children have had an excellent education at Twin Lakes. The principal, teachers, and staff are engaged. They consistently invite and welcome parents and families into the school with various activities throughout the year. My husband and I are extremely happy with our decision to have our children attend Twin Lakes.

The teachers are always screaming. The elementary kids are always fighting. I watched a kid choking another kid and the teachers were just standing around, saying they couldn’t do anything. You are told when you can and can’t pick up your OWN child. The bus system is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Kids will be on the bus for 2 hours and when you call the school to see where they are, the school tells you the kids aren’t their responsibility when they get on the bus.

My son is attending Pre-K and thus far his experience has been nothing short of great. We are new to Jacksonville and have two more kids younger and I reassure you they will also be attending Twin Lakes. Originally we were skeptical about enrolling our son in public school, based on everything we heard from our ETown Neighbors but everyday our son comes home is so excited to tell us about how great his day went. Principal Robertson is clearly doing a great job rebranding this school. Can’t wait to see our kids ongoing experiences.

So far so good. Getting in and out before and after school can sometimes be challenging because of traffic and Florida drivers but other than that great experience so far.

My daughter has attended this school for the past four years. I absolutely love the fact that they are required to wear uniforms but can wear whatever type of closed toe shoes. The teachers, staff and principle are awesome! I believe that this school has not received the recognition that it deserves. It truly dispels the public school stereo type. I am very pleased and would recommend this school to anyone.
