Read what parents are saying about Jean Ribault Middle SchoolIf your kid is assigned to this school. Sell everything you own to get them out. If you care about your kids future then you would get rid of all your material possessions to get your kid to another school. This school is inept at best. <<-- That is if you believe schools should teach and not just be a day care for lazy parents. They had 5 months to prepare for online learning due to covid and on day one and two they showed up with excuses and platitudes. Too bad the staff here only thinks of this as a job and not that lives are at risk. This is public education at its best folks. Run now while you can still save your kids from public indoctrination!

Posted by a parent on 2/19/2019The below comments were outdated so I took a risk at sending my son here due to moving into the district. From orientation to the present, just horrible. The school admin and principle are most unhelpful when it comes to any type of concern or issue. Its deliberate, they don't even try to be nice or treat parents with respect. I don't even call anymore, I email due to lack of follow up and respect. I requested a bus stop for my son for after school activities. The Team Up Coordinator provided inaccurate information regarding a bus stop. Basically, I was told to go one place to pick up my child but he was somewhere else. The horror of looking for my child and worrying about him was unreal. When I followed up with the principal to file a complaint because I thought the issue was with the bus company, not only did she defend the error but provided documents that I wasn't even provided. They made it seem like they told me where to go but I have a voicemail from the school telling me to go elsewhere. I followed up requesting a bus stop to drop my son off in a safer location and received no response. The coach over athletics sent me on a wild goose chase behind a "specialized" sports physical for a week. After I'd already paid 50 dollars for the physical, I was told that my son couldn't play. Not because I'd missed a deadline though. Here's where it gets more interesting. He told me he had some real "head busters" out there and inquired about my son's history. Basically because he had no experience he couldn't play because they already have a good team. My son would come home almost everyday telling me that the teacher curse at them. They don't listen to anything he has to say. Now I'm trying to withdraw my son and they're making this difficult too. My son forgot his ID 3 times, the last time was over a month ago. I received a phone call yesterday the he would have in school suspension. My question to them was why did it take so long to reprimand a student for an issue. Explanation provided, they were behind on paperwork! Ribault or its staff doesn't accommodate parents in any way and I honestly feel like a terrible parent for sending my child here. DO NOT SEND YOUR KID HERE!
Posted by a parent on 10/18/2016Teachers are very rude and disrespectful to the students. The teacher-parent relationship are at zero. The teachers nor the principal return calls or communication. I tried contacting the principal on several different occasions pertaining to my child and no response. I sub teacher criticized my daughter because her name is Lovely, telling her that she's not Lovely. The teacher sent her out of class because my daughter stated to the teacher, "what Adult says that to a child?" The teachers here are lowing the student self esteem and the desire to learn.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe people in the office are not friendly and there is no one running the school that helps our child's. My oldest girl went there 5 years ago and the school helped her learn. The principal helped her learn math. Now no one does anything. I am putting my son out.Parent Review10y ago - Martin Luther King, Jr Elementary School
