Read what parents are saying about Cedar Hills Elementary SchoolI have never sent my kids to a school like this, but I guarantee they WILL NOT return next year. My oldest son has disabilities and was supposed to have an IEP, it is almost the middle of the school year and he still doesn't have one. His original teacher quit within the first month of school and they have not been able to replace her. I had no point of contact for a teacher conference, no contact about his grades or performance. I have other kids in this school as well and they have good teachers, but the kids are very unruly and some are foul mouth with little to no consequence from what I have seen and heard from my kids. My oldest came home with a shank made from a mechanical pencil and a broken ruler. I was absolutely appalled. My children are not happy at this school. The uniforms are a problem too because they are khakis and a specific few colors of collared shirts. The problem I have with this is buying four of these uniforms gets expensive and when its time to buy new ones because the old ones are worn it is just too high of a price to buy so many. At my kids other schools they could wear whatever they wanted (inside of the normal dress code) and I could find those regular clothes at yard sales, goodwill, and second hand shops so they were not so expensive. Kids have few choices in the world, why take away the few they have? This school is absolutely dysfunctional with the exception of a few good teachers and staff who DO NOT get paid enough, I am sure, to do what they do and put up with all that goes on in this place. I will never send my kids back to this school again. Just as soon as this year is over (IF THEY PASS DUE TO THESE PROBLEMS) I will be sending them to a better school...if there are any in Duval county.

Posted by a parent on 8/18/2013This school is an Indoctrination camp for your children.Do not put your free thinking children in this school. They will come out brainwashed!
Posted by a parent on 4/12/2013To say that I am disgusted at the attitude to The Constitution as envisaged by Ms. Cheryl Sabb would be an understatement.
Posted by a community member on 4/12/2013Cheryl Sabb, 4th grade teacher is said to have assigned her children to write, "I am willing to give up some of my constitutional rights to be safer". This is absolutely unacceptable. Supposedly an investigation is pending, but we shall accept no less than her resignation.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children come home telling me how long it takes to log in to the computer. If we are moving to this new advance technology world why is it that the lowest performing schools have the WORST, oldest, & slowest computers & system? They have a wonderful Team Up program that help my children do their homework and offer enrichment activities that they only get once a week during the regular school hours. The director and lead teacher are great. My children love them.Parent Review9y ago - Cedar Hills Baptist Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGood teachers. Daughter has learned a lot. The only problem I have is they tend to be very eager to send a student home. Anything my kid says like I'm tired or I'm cold, they immediately take her to the office and check her temperature. If she has anything over a 100 they sending her home until 24 hour fever free even if I take her to the doctor and it is not contagious. I have to work to pay for her to go there not pay them for me to pick her up and stay at home with her. If they send her saying she has a fever and I take her to the Dr and they say it is a virus OK I understand. They should just have a little logic.Parent Review9y ago - Atcom Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child currently attends at this school and I cannot say how I am so please with the kind of education my child is getting. It encompasses *wholistic* approach including the spiritual needs of my child...They are on top on education and they care for their students. We came from another Catholic School at Middleburg FL as well and our experience there is not pleasant. Very discriminating and belittling when my child proves that he will THRIVE! Not to compare, but I can only say wonderful praises for Sacred Heart Catholic School.Parent Review10mo ago - Project Socks Wcal
