Read what parents are saying about Stephen Foster Elementary SchoolMy daughter did steam magnet program from grade 4 to 5. It was fantastic. Teachers were exceptional, great role models, and always thinking out of the box to create unique experiences. Really cool and smart teachers. Art teacher very cool! Super smart principal really fantastic. I’ve chaperoned on the field trips. The kids were working hard, intelligent and having fun!
Posted by a parent on 3/18/2021I love Stephen Foster Elementary! My daughter started attending in 1st grade and was immediately placed in an advanced class where she was really pushed to learn. She was later placed in the magnet program where she was pushed harder. Initially, I worried that she was being pushed too hard, but after speaking with her teacher and sticking with it, she began to really thrive and I couldn't be more pleased with her progress. My son also learned well and had great experiences at Stephen Foster. All students participate in music, art, PE, and go to the media center once a week (which is the highlight of the day for my children). They also offer chess club (my kids LOVED it), and they go on a good number of field trips each year. The teachers are wonderful and do a great job of staying connected with the parents. Between emails, apps, student led conferences and just pulling me aside at drop off or pickup if needed I always felt that I was up to date on what was going on in class. My only regret is that we had to move away before my kids finished their elementary school experience.
Posted by a parent on 3/17/2018I would rate the school a 9! My child attend the school this past school year for her first time and she enjoyed the school year very much! :)
Posted by a parent on 8/4/2017My school is fun and awesome the teacher's go over thing's with you and also you will have fun and meet new friend's you will also love the afterschool program EDEP it is 17 dollars a week and it's fun at EDEP they help you with math reading or anything else and they help you with homework. And if you can't afford EDEP the teacher's start math or reading tutoring I love my school and you guy's will too. At my school i like how the first day everybody helped me and told me were things were and they were really nice to me because i thought that everybody was going to be mean to me i also on the first day found my best friend. One thing i love about my school is how when i need help my teacher helps me alot and she always pushes me to do my best when i think im about to give up. One thing i think my school can improve is that they should hire subsitutes more often because so many people want to be a teacher and i think that hiring a subsitute will be a good idea because it shows the teachers ad everybody else what people no which in a good case is good. And that's what i think of my school.
Posted by a community member on 4/16/2014My Grandson attends Stephen Foster and the teachers there have been wonderful with him. He loves the after school program here as well and chose to go there over going home in the afternnon because everyone here is terrific with the children. I tell all of my neighbors that they will not be disappointed with the progress their children will make at this school.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWorst school ever!!!! My child was bullied nonstop. But she’s the one who they would punish!! She’s biracial. All the kids that was bullying her were white. They never held them accountable my child also has a disability!!! And she’s 8years old. They labeled my child as a potential future school shooter!!! She was trying to stick up for herself after being threatened they would not let us watch the school cameras that show the truth!! My daughter came from another school because she was being bullied and assaulted by other students. Now my child has to have her backpack checked everyday or just not wear one. Horrible school horrible principal. And the dean of that school told us she knew the girl and she would never threaten my child. But would not allow us to see the video.
