Read what parents are saying about New River Middle SchoolAbsolutely terrible school! The principal is disconnected with what is going on in this school from 6th grade to 8th. Ms. Reep seems to be the run that runs the show and her staff carries a I don't care attitude just like her. The coach is terrible he picks kids that are already gifted with athleticism instead of building and creating a team. The Magnet program is being ran by a control freak. Example: This school called me on a very serious note cause my son took too long in the bathroom. My son is lactose intolerant and has IBS. All they had to do was asked but they gave him detention instead. They are more focused on what your child has on instead of what is going on with the student. We didn't clean clothes so I sent my son to school with Jeans and he was placed in detention for the entire rest of the day. Way to go Ms. Reep. The teachers don't care, I am a firm believe I am a firm believer in teacher/parent communication. I'm still waiting to hear back from teachers and the useless guidance counselor. There is sooo much more just stay away if you can

Posted by a parent on 8/16/2022The school year has just ended! While my first & last year here as an 8th grader, my time at New River Middle School has been quite amazing overall! Nearly all of my teachers were overall very friendly with students and tried to make their classes engaging, even if most of the material was rather tedious & boring. (Special shoutout to Ms. Doolittle, Ms. Young-Skinner, the PE coaches, Mr. Castillo, Ms. Coombs, and Ms. Galarno! - they were my teachers this year)Again, even though this single year was my only experience with NRMS, I can say that the marine science magnet program is pretty good! (again, special shoutout to Ms. Galarno, Mrs. Rudolph, and Ms. O'Fallon!) The field trips are engaging and the marine science teachers are very energetic and seem to enjoy teaching their material! The field trips & events (Kayaking in Key Largo, Shark Tagging, etc.) are quite enjoyable, though the shark tagging trip was sadly canceled this year due to repeated inclement weather. As with all schools, of course, fights & other undesirable behavior will occur from time-to-time, but it's all good as long as you don't fall into the wrong crowd. All in all, my time here has been AMAZING, especially as the 2021-2022 president of student government (Gonna miss those days of everyone knowing me as "Mr. President" school-wide!)To any potential future sharks (& parents of future sharks), just stay on administration's good side, take part in extracurriculars (good luck to the future SGA presidents out there!), be yourself, and try to enjoy the great things New River has to offer!Hope ya have a great New River Day!Best wishes, Mr. President

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter just started this school after 2 years of home schooling and I have to say that the experience has been wonderful. Everybody has gone over and beyond to make the transition smooth for my daughter. They are caring and considerate. I want to give all the staff thanks to welcome us like you did. I wish all the parents could see how wonderful the staff is. The only negative thing I have to say about Riverland Elementary is that SOME (NOT ALL) of the parents are very impatient at drop off and pick up. Language that shouldn't be used around the kids are used by the parents.Parent Review8y ago - Westwood Heights Elementary School

Parent Review3y ago - Stephen Foster Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is one of the worst schools in Broward county, especially the principal Mr grimaldo, he's one of the worst principles doesn't know how to run to school also he doesn't know how to treat the staff with respect... They need to terminate this principle as soon as possible.Other Review1mo ago - Faith Lutheran School
