Bennett Elementary School

Honestly I’m so disappointed with everyone in this school. The women at the front office are MISERABLE and not nice! Not nice at all, never smiling, never welcoming. They do not address concerns or issues with teachers and students. There’s no connecting to talk with the assigned teacher. At recess they can’t play on the play set, just balls. Absolute shame how they act towards these kids and parents. I just might go to jail because my child cries everyday having to go here. I do not even want to send him. Will be switching schools. Highly do not recommend.

Most teachers develop an excellent relationship with parents. Through the portal parents can stay informed about their children. There is a very good intervention program for students that have reading problems. The intervention teachers really care.

Here is what I wish I would have known; it's a public school, period ( before being a Montessori school). So your main question to answer as a parent if you are wondering if you should send your kid to VSY is the following: If VSY didn't exist/ wasn't an option, would you send your kid to a public elementary school anyway? If your answer is yes, then go to VSY because its probably the best public school around. But if you wouldn't send your kid to a public school, but you are thinking about making an exception for VSY, because of what you've heard from other parents, because of the "Montessori," then don't. Go private and you won't regret it. VSY is 100% a public school, not Montessori..coming from a genuine Montessori background, I can say it truly isn't. No comparison. They use some Montessori material for some lessons, but the philosophy isn't Montessori inside the classrooms. Also, your kid will have homework, lots of it; think 24 pages per week for a 2nd grader, because the school teaches to the test.

After visits to several Pre K / Elementary schools in the Fort Lauderdale area, we were delighted to have included Little Flower Montessori. We enrolled our daughter and have since found that Little Flower exceeded our expectations. This school has amazing staff who are kind and truly care about our child and her development. The playground / outdoor area is expansive and equipped with fantastic play structures. This is a Montessori school true to the original values and learning systems implemented by Montessori. We love Little Flower, its community and highly recommend it to parents looking for a truly amazing school.

The school has been so good to my daughter! She received speech therapy since PK3 exceeding our expectations, she has made great friends and loves to go to school everyday. It feels like everybody is family, they are very welcoming and the teachers are top notch very communicative and caring. They work on individualizing education for your child's needs to make them thrive academically and socially. It is not easy to get in but if you do you’ll have no regrets ever. It’s a wonderful, safe and intellectually stimulating learning environment in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale.

This is the peaceful place for moms and kids. I loved it from the first tour. All the staff are polite, and the teachers are kind. My daughter came from another private school (St Jerome Catholic School) where she was suffering from bullying and many other things, and Delmar welcomed her with so much care. The most important thing is knowing that my daughter felt the difference and feels safe without the boy from the other school who was bullying her since last year.
