Posted by a parent on 5/25/2021This is an excellent neighborhood school. A school with an excellent staff, lots of extra help for all students, and a place for students and their parents to feel truly cared about. Curriculum delivery is top notch. Any student would thrive in this environment.
Posted by a teacher on 5/25/2021San Jose is a gem. EVERY teacher truly cares about their students and works hard to ensure that EVERY child works to his/her maximum potential!
Posted by a community member on 5/20/2021This is a great small neighborhood school in a wonderful community. It's considered a "Hidden Gem" and the teachers and staff are phenomenal.
Posted by a parent on 5/19/2021A true neighborhood school! Students can walk to school and form friendships that will last throughout their elementary years and beyond. Small and community minded, with a focus on students and family involvement, I definitely recommend San Jose!

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe were so excited to go here and our child was too then immediately went downhill and over the months seen a huge change and the school blamed our child for everything and never had once claimed responsibility for any of the things they brought home. We love the values the school was "Supposed" to bring but didn't as we were removed along with dozens other students and even a teach was removed. That alone alarmed me and shows what we went through. Look elsewhere this place shines from looks but is rotten to the core of the individuals running it.Parent Review4mo ago - Cornerstone Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePros: Diversity within the school. It didn't feel cliquish and the staff made everyone feel welcome. Great office support staff! Families were encouraged to participate in field trips/Chapel. For the most part, my kids enjoyed their classmates/socially enjoyed the activities.Cons: Behaviors were a constant challenge in the classroom. The teacher was visibly stressed/frustrated at the end of the day. When needing additional assistance with a short term situation, the teacher was not approachable, caring and it felt like we were an inconvenience. My kids were not academically challenged and bored with the curriculum. I'm glad we didn't return because I found a more challenging school that stimulates their desire to learn.Parent Review9mo ago - Guardian Angels Catholic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has an awful flawed behavioral system which targets specific children and uses kindergarten behavior apps(such as “class dojo”) as a disciplinary system for the whole school. That app is meant to show parents how their kids are acting at school. Instead, it has been used to give suspensions and detentions to a selection of kids who cant do any better due to the bias environment they are put in.Parent Review2mo ago - Our Lady Of Lourdes

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a wonderful school. The grounds are spacious and pretty. Car dropoff and pick up is fast and easy. Communication from teachers and office is great. I pile a lot of kids in my car each day from several families and they all get in with great stories about their days. I have met with the principal and assistant principal last year and what I remember most about meeting with them is how important the culture was to them. They said they want OLL to be a place where everyone is happy to be each day and that means children, teachers, and parents. I feel the school is a happy positive place to be and kuddos to the staff for all the hard work they do to provide an exceptional education for our children. My children's test scores both shot up last year! I think the negative reviews may be from parents whose children had to leave OLL becuase of their poor behavior. They do expect the students to behave well and if they don't, I have seen students no longer attend because of their behavior. This upsets the parents whose children are misbehaving, but I have to say it makes such a nice enviornment for the rest of thes students when all the kids are respectful and kind. The kids have great friends. If you are reading this because you are looking for a school, it is definitely worth a trip to check out OLL.Parent Review1mo ago - Palm Harbor Christian Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI speak so highly of this school and their staff every time I get the chance. My son started here when he was 2 in daycare, he is now 5 finishing VPK but is already doing kindergarten and 1st grade math and reading. I love the school because he does and that’s what is most important and because all of the teachers genuinely care about my son. They will all text me throughout the day whenever I need. The classes are small so my child gets more one on one attention with learning. I didn’t want my son in a public school anyways so when I was looking for a good daycare and found this school that he gets to grow up in, and have the same teachers and friends to grow up with from daycare threw high school it was an easy choice, it’s like a big family. They offer summer day camps, and after school programs as well, which fits my work schedule great! I definitely recommend!!Parent Review10mo ago
