Read what parents are saying about Shelton AcademyThe school has been a complete deception what you see in the tour is not what you get all the amazing activities are after school activities that you have to pay for. They’re not a part of your tuition there’s major disorganization between the admin, staff, teachers and parents they have a horrible communication And they’re not holding up to standards . There are good amount of students that need to go to ESOL classes and instead are put in mainstream doing so makes the student feel like they’re drowning and the students who don’t need the extra assistance aren’t able to be challenged. There’s no differentiation. This creates a huge educational gap, Their learning gap is atrocious! During the tour, they will talk about IEP‘s. Ignore all of it. There’s no support for any student that needs IEP assistance regardless of what that assistance might look like extra time whatever the case might be, do not be fooled! The students I’ve seen are averaging a year behind, and they’re on honor roll. Teachers are understaffed and overworked sometimes filling two classes in one classroom and unsupervised! During the tour of the school, you’ll see them brag about all the extracurricular activities and sports that are available to ALL the children. Be very cautious and ask lots of questions because one there’s not enough teachers so they don’t have many of these extracurricular activities available during school they have room and supplies that’s it! don’t be surprised if you find yourself having to pay for art and music and any other kind of sport that your child wants to be in as an afterschool expense because they’ll have to take that after school. To spend near $20,000 a year for school for bad education and no growth, But to spend that money and also not have any more than two options for sports That’s when my eyes opened up to realize they will nickel and dime every bit of the day. Small example but shows the difference if my student pays for lunch with their Apple Pay lunch is $10 if student pays for the same exact lunch through school payment it is six dollars. As disappointing as a school is, I am glad I made this mistake early , classes, that you do, or don’t take in high school, carry a heavyweight when looking into colleges. Well have to work hard to make up for this year we completely lost! LOST a yr and paid for it!
Posted by a parent on 1/22/2024We had a negative experience. Parents are bot happy with how the school has changed
Posted by a parent on 5/15/2023The worst experience I´ve lived in this school. The last year was good but chaotic. This year has been a disaster. My children don´t learn anything, they promise you things that they don´t fulfill or they do the opposite. The best teachers are leaving. The new administration is a terrible mess. They treat your children like merchandise, if they are "defective" they discard them with lies. They only care about money and use religion to wash away their lousy attitudes. The staff in general is very friendly but they have changed a lot in the last few months.
Posted by a parent on 5/9/2023We had a regular experience the first year. The second year, with the new principals, it was the worst experience possible!!!!. This school doesn’t have any good standards academically and morality speaking. They use the religious in an old-fashion way, they are totally the opposite way to expand a mind of any kid. This is not only my vision a lot of families and very good teachers left the school this year.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt is a great school. that school they teched me how to read in English. but the nunber 1 problem in the school is that middle schoolers 7th grade 8th grade and even 6th grade they are hot boxing if you dont't undestand what that means is that kids are vaping in the Bathroom but is not a vape is somenthing else is mar1gu4na and teachers now is happening and the people that sell them the vapes are higth schoolers in jc bermudez. problem nunber 2 middle schoolers are Fighthing in the Bathroom every day is a fight and they call it slapbox you have to hit your opponet in the face. I am in the school I am a student. but still is a grate school. Other Review3mo ago - Dr. Rolando Espinosa K-8 Center

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHonestly visit and go to another school. They sell an image of inclusion and caring for the students. Bullying is very common amongst the student; however administration covers up pretending they are doing something. Teachers are careless, they embarrass and humilities students. Administration is aware and their response is everyone makes mistakes, I have to protect my teachers. As far as tuition extremely expensive for the education given there. Please save yourself a headache and worried about your son and daughter well-being. There are other MUCH BETTER options than this. This school as my son described is depressing, sad, bad vibes. I feel terrible thinking another child can go through the emotional stress my son went through because of the students and the teachers. Find another school, this is NOT the right place!!!!Parent Review1y ago - Divine Savior Lutheran Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is very complete. The people here are very attentive with everything. They create a relationship with the parents and students to make the learning experience better. They make sure God is involved in every aspect of teaching. They are loving and pay attention to everything. They have a lot of opportunities to learn and show what the students are good at. Overall this school is amazing.Parent Review5mo ago - Greater Miami Academy
