Read what parents are saying about Deltona Middle SchoolThe bullying and harassment at this school is on another level. Theres more drama and trauma at this school than their is at my oldest daughters high-school! The amount of stress and anxiety my daughter experienced from this school is outrageous. If it wasn't for the wonderful music teachers, I think my daughter would have wanted to go back to online school.
Posted by a parent on 3/28/2024First day experiencing this school and was rudely approached by a parent who wanted to get violent with me all because I didn’t know where I was going. Walk my kid up to the gate while he was extremely nervous and crying, NO ONE would allow me in or at least walk him to class. They handed him back his schedule and said “I don’t know where any class is, follow the children to the 6th grade hall” then I call the school to check for a bus route, staff was extremely RUDE. So far it isn’t looking good at all, might be pulling my kid out sooner than later !!!!
Posted by a parent on 8/14/2023Terrible. My child has come home with bruises, has been harassed sexually, amongst other things, and nothing was done. They don't communicate with parents well. It seems like the kids just run the school and teachers are either afraid, or they just allow it. My child fell very behind this past year. Failed the FSA tests for the first time ever. The teachers seem to have very low expectations. Our experience with this school has convinced me to look for alternative schooling for my kids, private or otherwise. I've lost faith in our public school system, bc of this school.
Posted by a parent on 7/1/2023This year I know will be a tuff from coming from online school because of Covid . Only if I known how bad it would be. This year they gave pc to each student. That’s great to find out yes keep an eye on student work but do it at home if I can find it? I tracked down someone to explain where is the school work is placed then to find out that’s not the only place. Only if you can see how many apps the work can be hidden. I asked to talk to the teachers. She would not do it. Worse school year Wish I kept him online. This school got worse before this Covid closed down. What happen?
Posted by a parent on 10/11/2021Horrible school I just can't express it enough. I feel like the students run it and the teachers are afraid. I had asked a teacher once if they give homework so I can help my child at home to improve his grades and her response was no because most don't turn it in anyways. So what about the ones who do or for the parents who want to help thier kids. I mean who are the adults here. If a child does wrong they are quick to suspend them, well for most of them that is not a punishment but a way for the school to temporarily get rid of the problem. Call the parent request abmeeting use tge guidance councelor. I didn't know my son had all those referrals until about the 17th one. He did not have any last year. This school is awful in communicating with parents. I only had 1 teacher come forward to let me know he was failing. Why wait for a child to be failing when we could have started a few months prior. I found out in the 2nd marking period they have tutoring available because I brought it up. Having four F's didn't raise up the flags. This is my son's first year here and hopefully I can send him somewhere else next year.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis Elementary school is everything you would want in a school. On the smaller side it makes for a great community where everyone has a familiar face. All of the staff is reachable and eager to have parent engagement for the success of everyone, all students, families and teachers. They care about the children, their staff and really make it a great place to be. Issues do arise at any school. The great part about Enterprise is that issues are handled and with great care. From the top starting with the principal, the assistant principal, the staff in the front office, to teachers, to the lunchroom staff, to the special area teachers, to coaches, speech therapist, the safety guardian and even the janitor staff-- everyone is wonderful! There are not enough nice things to say about this school. My children are blessed! They are supported and we all come together to support each other! I love Enterprise Elementary!!!Parent Review1y ago - Discovery Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLike any school, Discovery Elementary has their exceptional teachers and the teachers who don't love what they do. Ms. Dietz has been an amazing principal, and we are grateful for her. She is always at the car loop off in the morning greeting my kids by name, she even attended their father's funeral when he unexpectedly passed. She is very personable and available. I love all of the activities that this school has to offer and I love that the parents can attend the award ceremonies. I know that makes it extra special for my boys.Parent Review7mo ago - Forest Lake Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has autism, she entered the school in 2nd grade and despite having her doctors diagnosis of ASD, they stuck her in a regular classroom and expected her to act accordingly while they spend several MONTHS doing their own ASD testing. Her placement in a regular classroom led to the suspending my 7 year old repeatedly for "behavior issues". I was getting phone calls almost every single day from her teacher, the counselor, the caseworker, etc regarding her behavior. She was suspended nearly once a week! And shes only on the mild/high functioning side of the spectrum! It took them almost 6 months to place her in an appropriate classroom with a teacher who knew how to teach children with ASD and the difference was night and day! That teacher was excellent and all of a sudden the phone calls home stopped. She never got suspended again either. The whole process to getting her into the appropriate classroom was a nightmare and made my child's first introduction to public school miserable.Parent Review4w ago - Spirit Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen we first moved to Deltona, we looked for a School for our children, knowing full well the disaster a Public School can be in this day and age. We found that Deltona Christian filled all of our needs for the betterment and education of our children since pre-K.I can only say that if you are a parent nowadays that want to give your child a Christian Education with people that really care about both their spiritual and academic education, among people that will really care for your child as an individual and take personal interest in their well-being, Deltona Christian is the School for you, and it's well worth the investment.Parent Review8mo ago - Gateway Christian Academy
