Some teachers take punishment way too seriously I’ve heard of children having to clean the boys bathroom bare handed, getting suspended for mear reasons and students hating teachers and wanting to drop out due to not liking learning there at all

As my sister attended this school a few years ago, i had noticed none of them cared about anything that had happened to their students. She had been bullied by some students for several months last school year because my mom has stage 4 liver cancer. All of her teachers were informed of our situation via email, but somehow only some of them had read their emails. Although the teachers had probably not seen the bullying happen, they could have had a better watch over their students. There are some white kids saying the n word, some kids bullying people with cancer, and appareantly also some people saying the r slur. The “popular kids” at her school are also the rudest people shes encountered. In her words, the bathrooms are also disgusting. She hated this school, she is never coming back here again.

We will go into year 3 at CK8 and have been grateful for the support we’ve received from Spec ed, deans, and principle. They are available and reachable when needed. Elementary school teachers have been wonderful and middle school has been great with the exception of one or two. Teachers are reachable through the internal systems when needed. I have been really impressed overall.

School overcrowding issues are not the fault of the school, but the district and local politicians. It's frustrating for everyone involved. People should voting in all elections accordingly. The School does a phenomenal job of working to address these issues and ensure all children are receiving a quality education. Safety is a big priority to administrators, our SRO and teachers, they are continually working to improve safety. Parents with concerns in either of these areas should be attending SAC and PTA meetings to have their concerns addressed. These meetings do not have a lot of participation, which is disappointing considering you have a direct audience with the Principal. K-8 is not the only area school we have attended and I can say with complete confidence it is by far the best of those we have attended. My children love their school. It's not without issues, all schools have them, but there are hard working people who I have always seen, take them seriously. There is a new Principal who seems very excited to be here and help the school reach its highest potential. I've gotten a very good impression of him thus far and I'm excited to see what he does for our school. This school is blessed with a lot of volunteer/parent/guardian participation. I also don't believe the statistics on diversity are correct, the last I heard there are children speaking 42 different languages at the school. Children representing out Families in Transition are supported and loved. For example, PTA regularly provides funding so that these children can enjoy events such as the Book Fair and Holiday Shoppe. I've seen teachers and volunteers pull from their own pockets to assist as well. I find it sad that not all parents find the school to be to their satisfaction, but for the most part I feel parents are quite happy. I certainly see more parents happy vs. upset.

A large population of students making it difficult to meet all of their needs. Small fish in the big sea. Dual Language a program is excellent with wonderful teachers. Some classrooms are overcrowded. High staff turnover which makes things very difficult. Walkers and bikers pickup location is quite a disaster with too many children getting out at one location.
