B.D. Gullett Elementary School

I am a grandparent who visits regularly, often on Fridays when you can attend for lunch with a child. This school has a broad spectrum of students, with an experienced faculty. Thus far, my grandson seems to have benefitted from that faculty and the general atmosphere which seems in all respects to be caring, respectful and responsible. I have witnessed no bullying or other negative behavior during lunch time, children seem to interact freely and in a very friendly and accepting matter, and there is always someone watching over them. Teaching is an exhausting job, and I appreciate the effort involved. The support staff is also uniformly friendly and respectful to both adults and children. Overall, I would as a retired professional give this school good marks. I have seen nothing significant which would raise any red flags. I have no experience with special education or special needs, but the physical needs of students seem to be met.

This school pick and choose who they allow to bully and get away with it. If you’re black or mixed race please have your kids in self defense classes. They will do everything to cover their behinds. The white lids feel privilege and think they can bully the 9th grade black kids. The principal has her favorites and you best believe she will tear your kids as if they were wrong even when they defend themselves from the bullies that come to your kids classrooms or follow them to their classroom and make threats. 10 to 12 white boys from this school came to my neighborhood to jump my sons whom are mixed race.y boy had to defend himself because they wasn’t going to stop until he do. The bullies were 16, 17 and 18 that bullied my 15 years old sons. This school is full of racist bullies.

The school is the best ever , and the teachers are very nice. Teacher Courtney is very compassionate

My daughter truly enjoys attending this school and looks forward to going every day with a smile. As she is in VPK, I deeply appreciate the staff’s attentiveness and the genuine care they show by personally escorting her to her classroom each morning. Her teacher is wonderful — caring, patient, and truly dedicated to the children’s development. As a parent, it gives me great peace of mind to know that my daughter is in such a loving and supportive environment. I am sincerely grateful for all they do.

Absolutely appalled today, I witnessed a six year old girl be changed in the cafeteria with her whole class present including boys. Her shirt was off and everything was out. She was asd and having a melt down. There is a bathroom in the cafeteria they could have gotten her too, created a privacy wall, or had the class step out to give her some dignity but no. In addition, the cafeteria people and teachers have no clue about food allergies, if your kid has a food allergy please send food to school with them or make a very detailed accounting of what your child can and cant eat. Teachers say cheese pizza is baked in dairy when its not, its considered melted cheese and not safe for kids who are on the baked goods step of overcoming their food allergy or intolerance.

This school use to be great. In the past 2 years it has gone downhill significantly. Greatness comes from the top and this school has an awful leader. My daughter experience bullying and was physically hit by a boy during recess and nothing was ever done. After a month of “investigations” and numerous meetings with Principal Allen and Dean Bolum, nothing was done. The boy was verbally harassing my daughter and pushing her and hitting her and he wasn’t even moved to another class. We decided to pull both of our kids and put them at another school. They are now happy and thriving. I have numerous friends who have pulled their kids from Imagine LWR. It’s truly terrible now.
