Forest Park Elementary School

This school has the best curriculum and teachers and support staff that truly care about the students. It is easy to get assistance and support as a parent as well. One of the only schools I know of with a planetarium! They strive to help kids that are struggling as well and place them in programs to assist with reading/math. I can't say enough good things about this school. Since Principal McDowell took over she has really worked hard at creating a safe, creative and caring learning environment. She also applied for numerous additional resources for the school. This is a great school and I would highly recommend.

This school's "A rating" is fake for starters, they inflated the grades and GPAs of the students and put them in programs for bring their ratings up. Not only that the principal refused to address multiple concerns I've had , she ignores emails or send one response basically saying "I'll look into it and get back to you" and never does. Concerns from safety to a teacher bullying my child and her office employees ignoring my emails of me requesting documents that I have the rights to, in the first year my child started this school she got injured and I never even at least received an incident report or the truth of what happened.

My kids enjoyed the school most the kids were friendly and social teachers seem to like them a good deal they worked well with my daughter who had a ADHD and dyscalcula honestly there were some whiny at a state kids that like to stir up mess but they were quickly addressed by the student body overall my experience this past years has been very pleasant.

This school is a great school. They a a lot of afterschool activities for different kids with different interests

Gulf Stream school is a warm and loving environment for our oldest child. She is in her first year there and truly begs to go to school every morning. She surprises us daily with how much and how quickly she is learning. Every single teacher knows her name and looks out for her wellbeing.

Unity School is a special place. The love and care poured into the children at every stage is something we will never take for granted- it’s been one of the best investments we’ve made. Academics are rigorous but still personalized, and the school preserves what matters most: kids being kids. We’re so grateful for the on-staff school counselor, fine arts, PE, recess/outdoor time, and forward-thinking programs like robotics and meaningful use of technology. Through Lessons in Living, my kids have led us at home in HeartMath meditations and have learned about spiritual traditions from many faiths in a respectful way. Safety is taken seriously, with strong systems in place and armed security on campus with NYPD/military background, and an emergency alert camera system connected directly to the local police department (which is literally across the street). I truly cannot share enough how grateful we are for this school.
