Read what parents are saying about Spanish River Community High SchoolThis school is fine. Nothing much better in the area, besides private schools (some of which are arguably much worse). Teachers, depending on class level, subject, individual, are generally good. In my experience, my teachers have cared and know what they’re teaching. It’s fine like it’s normal. Lots of healthy academic competition. If you’re bad at school, this isn’t a good place for you. Not that your looked down upon, but your not at the “average” level of the students here. As most teens are, cliques exist but it’s not that deep. If you’re a kind, chill, not dumb person you should have a problem making friends. So many different types of people, you will find someone who fits you. Drugs are a problem, but it’s south florida. what do you expect? Like it’s a problem but it’s not the schools fault. Olympic has the worst drug issues. Private schools also have tons of drugs, it’s no different. This school teaches a lot about how to deal with people, stress, life overall. You are very prepped for college and how to be a good person. You learn life lessons and academic stuff. It’s a fine school. If your zoned for it, go.
Posted by a student on 11/15/2023Spanish river is a great school and anyone who says otherwise either didn’t have a good high-school experience and/or their parents don’t understand the modern world of kids doing what they want and following the crowd which is both their fault. If your kid is doing bad things then obviously you wouldn’t like the school. Y’all are bafoons and spanish river is a great school. If you are worried about your kid doing bad things maybe you should take it upon yourself instead of blaming a school. Bafoon parents
Posted by a community member on 5/17/2023Horrible school, I regret placing my children here. NO DRESS CODE, Little girls are dressing like they are going to a club or something worse.. A lot of kids using drugs, bullying, sexism, racism and more. 97% of my kids friends are using drugs and they are not bad kids, but making really bad decisions, I really wish they enforce dress codes, and check for drugs somehow. No dress code at allI would be pulling out my kids as soon as I find something better, which of course, means moving out of the are unfortunately .
Posted by a parent on 10/19/2022Spanish River is a great school , it would be even better if the Principal the parents ran out was still there. Those 'Parents' , are the problem at this school and Omni - which is a terribly run school. The Principal at Spanish River would have had Omni straightened out in a couple years; instead she had to go over to Spanish River to mop up the mess left by the Parents. School is very competitive , but very little learning for most kids outside of their noses buried in books. The kids are coddled and babied by their mommies and daddies....they need some real-world learning. But what are your alternatives , Olympic , worse - or you can pay to pass your kid thru nearby N.Broward , Pope or St.Andrews. To the good teachers , keep up the great work....to the terrible ones RETIRE. You know who you are.
Posted by a parent on 4/17/2022This school is very unsanitary, they have roaches in their kitchens, and rumored to have rats as well. I have also experienced multiple accounts of racism and sexism throughout my time of being here. I do NOT recommend this school to any students or parents reading this.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe enrolled our son here mid-year. The teachers are so caring and helpful. Lots of activities both during and after school. Lots of things for families to be involved in as well. This gives the school an overall great sense of community. Highly, highly recommended. Also, not only are the people there terrific at their jobs they are also very down to earth.Parent Review1mo ago - Calusa Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePrinciple, staff and all the officials of this school are disrespectful, and would need a basic education on manners. They do not know what education is, and they are center focused, closed minded people. Please do not bring your child there - because children there do not study - Calusa doesn''t care about teaching our children. Calusa staff cares to fight with parents more than to do their primarily job and educate.Parent Review1y ago - Morikami Park Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageApplying to colleges from this school is difficult. Counselors have you on a conveyor belt, and parents are given a list that they need to sign. Literally in a matter of seconds the guidance counselor rambles off to-do items and makes you sign that you are doing them. Big checkmark that another parent is off the list. There's a program that AH has called Naviance, and it shows the likelihood of your child to get into a particular college, based on the track record of past students at AH school. Most shocking is the admit rate for UF. It's pretty clear that AH is not talking to UF about the rigor of their classes, because the admit rate is low. UF is the number 1 public school in Florida and I think in the nation, and a kid from AH with a 4.0 likely will not get admitted to UF. That's a problem. AH needs to set up it up and start talking to the better Florida colleges. Many of the AH guidance counselors aren't great. The VP of guidance showed no initiative to help last year: no calling back, avoiding. If this happens to your child in sophomore year, it's because they have determined your kid is not worthy. If I ran AH like the way AH runs their kids, there would be a lot of guidance counselors sacked and many more happy college admissions people on campus.Parent Review2mo ago - St. Andrew's School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience in this school is absolutely horrid. The classrooms are tiny, sad, and the teachers don't aid to you. Please, don't fall for what this school advertises you because it all is fake. There is absolutely no student support, stay clear of this mess and waste of 40 thousand dollars. Don't send your kids here, or else you will end up seeing their faces full of sadness, and stress. The school is not meant to aid you, quit frankly the contrary; I have found in my years as an alumni in Pine Crest the school motivates you to do bad, and sets you up for failure.Student Review1y ago - Addison Academy
