Van Ness Elementary School

Cedar Tree is a student and family centered school. Almost to a fault they put the wants and needs of the parents before all else. My child loves this school so much that I withdrew him from a publicly ranked school to place him here. He’s excited about learning and I, as a helicopter mom, am excited about watching him grow and develop here. Would recommend this school over any of the elites in upper north west.

Tyler is absolutely exceptional! Led by Dr Jasmine Brann, one of the best principals the district has to offer, and a talented and dedicated staff and teachers who really invest in our children. We couldn’t be happier to be here.

I am a Brent Elementary alumni whom is very very very fond of the school environment. The teachers are nice and helpful. They really care and wanted me to succeed. I became best friends with one of the teachers the first of kindergarten. To this day we are still besties for the resties. It is super easy to make friends I still have many close friends from when I was at Brent. The teachers very active in and out of the classroom. One of my favorite memory’s was when my teacher would play kick ball with us. Just know that sending your child to this amazing school is a great decision.

I am a parent of a PK3 student. My husband and I could not be more pleased with Payne Elementary. The teachers are warm, engaging and professional. We are so impressed with the curriculum - my son's class has specialized weekly instruction in science and Spanish. Even at the early childhood education level, the students have access to enrichment activities in the after school program - this fall, the activities were soccer and "Joy of Motion" (yoga and dance). We are excited for our younger son to start at this school in a few years if he is able to get a space through the lottery!

My daughter has been at St. Peter School for two years at the middle school level. We have been pleased with the academics and believe the students are being prepared for rigorous preparatory high schools. The school also has a community feel and our daughter was welcomed in, made friends quickly and is thriving. My frame of reference for comparison is based on the schools my wife and I attended and the previous school my daughter attended which was rated 8/10 on great schools. SPS’s expectations and standards are higher and I believe the school to be overall superior to our other school experiences.I read a review about the school not being tolerant of students from different backgrounds. I will say I have not seen that at this school. What I have seen is a respectful environmental. I also read a review about the school not being for students at the high or low end of academic spectrum. The academics are rigorous come middle school, so I can see it being a problem for students struggling at their grade level, but even for students at the higher end of the spectrum, I believe they will be challenged. Even the best students’ parents have commented that their child has been challenged at the middle school level.

This school is worst than public school. If I could give it no stars I would. My daughter went her for a year and it was the worst decision I have ever made for her learning, social and emotional well-being. She was physically bullied and nothing was done to address the situation. We were ignored as a family. She was also graphically and verbal called a rational name in which the school did not address until I made it an issue. There is a serious lack of authority in the administration. I had no faith in them and my daughter didn't trust the faculty because of the lack of addressing her daily adversities. Please don't send your child to this school. I would hate for your family to be disappointed as my family has. Good luck.

Kids screaming, running, and playing, outside between 8:00-8:30am EST in a residential courtyard of a luxury apartment building. When Melissa was asked to adjust outdoor playtime to a more reasonable hour to rectify the negative impact she’s having on the community, she responded with sarcasm and unprofessionalism.
