There was people bullying kicking the students at the cabinets this is not a good school

We've been at John Lewis since they opened the new building in 2021, have two daughters there in 1st and PK4 who both started in PK3. We could not be happier with this school. The principal is the most caring, nurturing and committed to ensuring a safe, healthy environment in which all kids can learn and thrive, and has created a culture among all staff who believe the same. We've had no major issues since we've been at the school, and whenever minor ones have arisen the staff work quickly to address them. Teachers and administration are communicative with parents and engaged with the entire school community. This school is magical, and we wish all kids and families could be as blessed as we are to be part of it.

We’ve been very happy at Truesdell. It’s clear our daughters are thriving in the loving, supportive, and enriching learning community that the teachers and families have created here. When we started four years ago, we were a bit nervous given that the kids would be bussed to the temporary location but we very quickly came to appreciate how the family engagement has really positively shaped our experience of community. Our favorite things about Truesdell are - The whole-child focus where the teaching is rigorous and intensive in the right ways yet fun and engaging and the administration also prioritizes the physical and socio-emotional activities (soccer, ballet, Spanish club, twice a semester field trips are good examples). - The very active and engaged family teacher organization. It feels like we are part of a village that is invested in the well-being and success of every student. If parental engagement is a key indicator of student success, then we have no doubt ours kids will continue to thrive here. - The teaching staff. It could be that we’ve been extremely lucky but we’ve been impressed by the passion and genuine enthusiasm for teaching that our kids’ teachers have all shown. - The facilities: the new building really has been an upgrade and really feels like it reflects the spirit of the school. Areas for improvement: communication. Mixed or delayed messaging can be frustrating when it comes to special events or drop-off/dismissal procedure changes. I’d also add that the principal can be a bit brusque but we’ve come to appreciate how data-driven she is with her decision making on the admins priorities for the kids. Overall we have had a good experience here and feel the Truesdell pride!

Two kids attended pre-k to 3rd. Great school with excellent leadership. Bilingual model works very well for Spanish and English speakers, school is very warm and it’s a fun environment. Do a great job of teaching inclusion.

If you are Latino, I do not recommend this school, since the children are discriminated against and the parents are not listened to when you have any questions.

They kicked me out for being to depressed

After touring this school to enroll our then 3yo I knew this was a special place. The teachers have been such an incredible support emotionally and educationally. They have cared for my child in a way that has helped her grow into a kind, loving, and intelligent individual. We do not speak Spanish in the home but our kid is now fluent and speaks like a native. This is a special place that provides everything and more to facilitate a safe, loving, and rich environment. Highly recommend!!
