Read what parents are saying about Bunker Hill Elementary SchoolFor me its a good school the teachers help a lot of my daugther.
Posted by a community member on 3/27/2017My daughter attended the PK-4 program and will be in kindergarten this fall. So far, I am very pleased with Brookland. I find all of the administrators, office staff, teachers and volunteers to be very helpful and they all seem very invested in my daughter. There are many opportunities throughout the school year for parents to get involved and overall, my daughter seems to enjoy school, her teacher and making new friends. In terms of academics and the social environment for older students, this is an area I need to do more research. I am considering transferring my daughter to another school across town with higher academic ratings once she gets older, but for right now, Brookland is a good choice.
Posted by a parent on 7/22/2014Hopefull that next school year is much better and productive. NOt many schools in the area and this one should be much better.
Posted by a parent on 4/29/2014The principal here at this school has no sense of direction when it comes to driving these students. I observed her allow students to use profanity, fight, and run circles around her staff and she did absolutely nothing. I don't feel my child is safe at this school under her direction. These kids had to be no older than 10 years old cussing up a storm in front of her. She also is very rude to her staff in front of students and parents. PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL PARENTS!!!!!
Posted by a parent on 9/27/2013My daughter was bullied and abused by 3 boys and two girls and the principal did nothing about it. I was even notified until my daughter came home and told me that she bribed her an the other students with candy not to tell the parents. Inasked for a meeting with ms malakina and was barred from the school. I withdrew both of my children. The kids aren't safe and most of the parents don't even know what's happening on a day to day basis

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall the kids are fantastic. All families support each other and our teachers. Teachers seem to have a family like relationship but taking a deeper dive one would find that there are many issues beyond the walls that start from the top.Other Review4y ago - Perry Street Prep PCS

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son and I came into PSP through the Appletree program for PK-4. He is now in First Grade and is literally the little super star of the school. The entire staff including office administration knows and loves my child. He has a personal connection with each and every one of them and they latched onto him from the moment we arrived. It's tough being a single parent but with everyone at PSP I never feel alone. Anything I may need, if it is within their will, THEY WILL do it! I know they care, love and adore my son. There is nothing else a Mom can ask for while entrusting her child to other adults. I care, they care and do everything in their power to be a support system to not only the child but the household as well. We just adjusted through the pandemic together and they were so diligent about the academic, and personal well being of their students. Now that we are back in school, they have expanded their programs and offer countless activities, FOR FREE, for their students to keep everyone engaged. I vouch for this school 100%, from Principal Crouch (Love her), to the all of the administrative staff like Ms. Short, Ms. Valant, Ms. Carr, Ms. Kathy to name just a few and especially the Teachers like Ms. Cagney, Ms. Perry, Ms. Parker, Ms Seagers, Ms. Adam's, Mr. Cole, Mr. Alston, Mr. Golden, Ms. Oliver and so many more... I have so many I could name that are all amazing! The teachers are also amazing talents as well, from singing and musical instruments to athletics to personal video performances for the students. I LOVE PERRY STREET PREP. They believe in our children and support them in every way. Definitely one of the best schools in DC!Parent Review2y ago - Burroughs Education Campus

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is one of the best school that my son had attended. I am so sad that he will not be attending next year because we are moving. I would like to thank every teachers, staff, principal, vice principal, for making a great impact on my son life at John Burroughs. Also, I forgot to mention about the only establish STEM elementary school in the DC area. Thank you again for your support.Parent Review4y ago - Mary McLeod Bethune Day Academy PCS

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has spent two years as a middle school student at STA, and we couldn't be happier with the school. I think it's one of the best kept secrets in the city. At STA your child will receive a rigorous, classic education from caring teachers who want to see your child succeed. I would recommend this school to anyone.Parent Review2y ago - Shining Stars Montessori Academy PCS

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible place to work and send your children. It's a revolving door. Teachers and staff members leave on a regular basis. They are very short staff which leaves classroom assistance to teach your children. This is not good.Parent Review1y ago - Holy Redeemer School Kensington
