Read what parents are saying about Turn Of River SchoolThis school's student body is rude, unkind, and just downright horrible. Many of the students are kind and nice, but more students in this school just are rude. There is a fight at least every month but the principal does barely anything to stop it except lectures that no one listens to. The afterschool program is good, and the teachers are very kind. But the teachers don't really challenge you to do your best. These are just my thoughts of the school since I have only gone here for one year, but I still don't recommend the school.

Posted by a student on 5/5/2016I have never been so happy with a school as I have been with this one. The administration and teachers are phenominal! The After-School Activities are incredible, especially Rachel's Challenge and The Soul Writers. My child learned so much and had fun in the process! If you're in this district, count your blessings!
Posted by a parent on 6/7/2013I spent 15 days in 2 different classrooms at this school last yr. There may be some good teachers there, but the 2 veteran teachers whose classes I saw were mediocre. They were doing the absolute minimum, and their students were not challenged and were learning very little. All of Stamford's schools are diverse. Students are a cross-section of all the different kinds of people who live in Stamford. But when the number of "problem kids" in a class gets too high, no real learning can take place. The teacher's focus becomes keeping order, not teaching. The student body at TOR is very unruly. There are some good and average kids, but what was shocking was the # of kids whose aim was to disrupt class. The % of unruly and disobedient kids was so high that teachers worry about just keeping order in the classroom, rather than challenging the students who are there to learn. The principal was unsupportive, even refusing to allow teachers to remove disruptive students from class. Before your child starts at TOR, you should arrange to visit, as a school aide or (preferably) as a substitute teacher for a few days, so that you can get a realistic view of just how bad the tone is in the classrooms.

My child comes home inspired, curious, excited, and full of wonder! The teachers are incredibly kind and thoughtful, dedicated, and highly educated and experienced. Basically, this school is a dream come true for our family! Simply the best early education you could possibly give to your child.Parent Review1y ago - Our Lady Of Grace Nursery School & Kindergarten

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a former student, the education here was good at CAS but the teachers there have favorite students. If one student does something bad they get in trouble but the favorite student does not. The bullying here is outrageous. They will bully you a lot. If your friend is sad or crying you cannot comfort them or else the teacher will loudly scream at you for doing it. The plantation near the playing area is dangerous there are many dangerous plants like poison ivy. The playground is unsafe since they make you play on an old parking lot. There are many dangerous cracks which is immensely angering since children play here. There are outdoor classrooms that they make you use during some tests. It is very bad since you can bugs crawling up your leg during a test which makes it tremendously hard to focus. The "prizes" that you get on your birthday are just dollar store items like little stickers that say CAS on it. This school massively disappointed meOther Review4mo ago - King School Inc
