My experience at Stamford High has been nothing short of phenomenal. Excellent teachers, great school leadership, and an amazingly diverse student population. There are not many city high schools in the country with such a diverse student population like it — I think that’s a big part of what makes
Posted by a teacher on 8/2/2026Great school. Love the diversity. Good communication from the principal and guidance office.
Posted by a parent on 8/2/2026Guidance counselor never helped I didn’t graduate with my class because they messed up my credits I had to attend summer school and they pulled me out because they noticed the mess up they robbed me of my graduation experience. Fights constantly in the school. The teachers did not respect students.
Posted by a community member on 8/14/2024SHS is a good school with very good teachers. It's sad that it has such a low rating on this website. They are a very diverse population, and that is not a negative thing.
Posted by a parent on 7/14/2017It has an extremely bad reputation and overall is an amazing school with a lot of character

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI cannot say enough great things about Holmes Elementary School. Both my kids have been through this school (one boy and one girl) and both have had equally excellent experiences. The principal and vice principal are engaged, proactive, and responsive. The student body are kind, caring, and supportive of their classmates. The staff and teachers are excellent and are a testament to the excellent school district that Darien, CT has invested in.I cannot imagine them having gone anywhere else and am so thrilled with their preparation for middle school.Parent Review3y ago - Stamford Charter School For Excellence
