Read what parents are saying about Putnam Middle SchoolWe moved last summer to Putnam from suburb out of Boston,Massachusetts. Prior school district my son had attended was highly rated and ranked in top school districts of Massachusetts . My son does have an IEP and initially I was discouraged reading about the low rating for Putnam schools. However, I am so glad that we did move to Putnam and give the schools a chance. The smaller class sizes allows the children to develop relationships with educators and opportunities for students to recieve individualized learning and support. My son began to learn and excel academically for the first time ever! He even made honor roll for the first time! My son cared about his assignments and maintaining his grades which was also a first. The special educator who supported my son is amazing and goes above and beyond for all the students she works with. It is going to be difficult to leave these amazing teachers behind because they understood my son and also encouraged, challenged, and nurtured him. My son has dyslexia and at the beginning of school year was reading several grades below. By the end of his year he was beginning t read at grade level. The school really tries to rally around the students and keeps them motivated. Just wanted to share my sons experience as an 8th grade student
Posted by a community member on 6/11/2023This a cool is the worst Imaginable. The teachers are horrible and the food is not edible. Most kids that come here leave depressed. Would not recommend to any kid.
Posted by a community member on 4/5/2023We have had no issues at all with this school. It is my daughters first year, but it has been great and the teachers have been supportive. If she ever needs anything extra, they are willing to stay and help out.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids have had the best teachers they are amazing at teaching them and help them throughout the school year but the school doesn't even care about bullying it seems most of the time if there is a incident they won't call you to let you know what happened you'll only find out when your child comes home and tells you if you call them up to speak to someone about it they'll just tell you we'll look into and never actually do anythingParent Review1y ago - Woodstock Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTeachers are amazing as well as leadership. I have had two children in this school and one still attending. Each teacher has been caring and gone out of their way to help my children succeed, K-5th. I also found leadership’s response to issues were on point in our experience. I am not sure why this scoring is so low but as a parent in the school system, I found the school to be outstanding. Side note: All students were provided with iPads this year to ensure every income level has access to school with COVID. I found this helpful as it gave equal footing to my children who could not afford to purchase their own iPad. Only recommendations come from my children. One more science experiments and the other, introduction to Spanish or other second language at an elementary level. I only say Spanish as that is what is taught at Woodstock Middle School.Parent Review3y ago - The Rectory School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Rectory School genuinely changed my life. When I arrived in 7th grade as a midyear transfer, I was not in a good place with my academics because of the pandemic, and Rectory changed that around. The adults care so much about students and always look out for you. In a community as small as Rectory, you get to know almost everyone and feel very connected to the community. The academics are good, but the academic support program is amazing. I was able to improve my study skills, enhance my math proficiency, and start to enjoy learning. Rectory offers a great balance between academics and sports, along with a fantastic residential life program. After graduating in the class of 2023, I continued on to a great secondary school and will always be grateful that I found Rectory.Other Review7mo ago
