Read what parents are saying about Nathan Hale Middle SchoolThe 21-22 school year was really rough, to say the least. It really felt like there was a fight each day and the punishments for the fights were really weak. Sometimes there would big fights and the person who started the fights would be back 2 days later starting fights again. Teachers were sending students to I.S.S (in school suspension) almost all the time. The I.S.S teacher, really doesn't care about anything and students took it more of skipping class than an actual punishment. Due to all of this, the teachers morals really dropped and you can really tell. Don't even get me started when the teachers were absent. One time, the substitute teacher sent over half of the class to security (not even joking) and sometimes the security just sends the students back to the class after like 10 minutes. So after 10 minutes all the bad kids are back in class. I hope next year will be better.
Posted by a student on 8/26/2022It is sad for me to return and see that our great school which rated top middle school in the district has gone to a four rating and a failing school. We had spirit and embraced BARK (Believe, Awareness Respect and Kindness). As a whole, teachers and support staff were good examples of BARK and gave so much to the school and the community. We had the wheel going. Yes! we had the wheel going! So many exceptional teachers and leaders, who were there for years, have taken their talent elsewhere. I guess they want to be part of a place that is moving forward. When things are working and the wheel is going, we look at the leadership. When things go sour, we look at the leadership. What happened? Change for the sake of change is not always good. - “Leaders instill in their people a hope for success and a belief in themselves. Positive leaders empower people to accomplish their goals.”-Unknown
Posted by a teacher on 10/23/2019Overcrowded classrooms and unruly kids. There are some good teachers there but they are overwhelmed and over-worked. The school has lost the focus on BARK (Believe, Awareness Respect and Kindness) which was so effective under the previous principal. Honor assemblies have gone by the wayside; there is no library and recess is 10 minutes is spent standing on the pavement. There are little to no after school activities. Would not recommend.

Posted by a community member on 2/3/2018The years I spent there have been good to me. Many talented teachers doing their best. Best times: concerts, field day, Holocaust speaker, red week, veteran's day... Not my favorite: cafeteria -too loud.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal and vice principal are wonderful, approachable, and put their best foot forward to ensure the students' success. I am very pleased with the changes that have been made over the last few years and look forward to my child graduating from his 5th grade class in a couple of years! The teachers are also awesome here! They love their students and bond well with the parents (at least in our case).Parent Review1y ago - Naramake Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is in the 1st grade at Naramake and we have had the most amazing experience! The teachers are warm, compassionate and truly have a passion for what they do. I've seen my son thrive in the short time he has been there. Also, the families we have met there are amazing--involved, supportive, fun. My daughter will start kindergarten in the Fall and we couldn't be happierParent Review5y ago - Side By Side Charter School
