Consolidated School

Wonderful for those who have an IEP. My son was not getting the proper services in any other town in CT (Brookfield and Norwalk). After we moved to NF they conducted the appropriate testing and created the most robust IEP since my son started school. Instead of marrying themselves to the 80/20 rule it was essentially reversed to the 20/80 rule. My son has ADHD, Sensory Integration Dysfunction, Auditory Processing Dysfunction, severe executive brain level dysfunction and mood disorder. NF gave my son a full-time Para and created his environment with the resource room as his foundation and then building out his program into the mainstream. Not only have his academics jumped up drastically, his ability to tolerate and actually "Enjoy" the mainstream increased to the point that my son spent most of the last month of school (2013) in the mainstream. This is unheard of for my son so as you can imagine I am beyond thrilled!!!!! Thank you, MHHS!!!!!

We were quite impressed witb the warm welcome and guided tour by Dr. Epple when we came for our first day. All of the teachers were great! We look forward for our new learning adventure.

This school is a huge disappointment. You cannot trust that you child will be treated fairly or that the school will follow-up with what it promises to do the rectify the situation if your child has issues. Also, the 13 student ratio is not correct. For the 2016-2017 school year, each fifth grade teacher had 25 students per teacher. If your child goes to this school, closely watch what goes on.

This is my son's third year at Green Chimneys. I am thrilled with the school. My son has ADHD and a high IQ...and Green Chimneys has helped him handle his behavior so that he can apply himself. As a result, he is on track, taking the same classes he would be taking at a strong public school or a good private school that didn't happen to focus on ADHD students. The school's campus is lovely and the FARM is more like a zoo. Working with the animals has been a boon for my son. I cannot say enough good things about the teachers and staff members.
