H. C. Wilcox Technical High School

I've had my child here since Kindergarten (she's going to 2nd grade now) and I honestly have nothing but good things to say about this school, it's teachers and also office staff which have been outstanding with my child (last teacher was Mrs.Vermeal..incredible teacher and very patient plus understanding with my short attention-spanned, sensitive and hyper-active daughter). Definitely a top notch school with lots of attention geared at each individual child. Again excellent principal also, always greeted me openly and welcoming each and every morning just as he did to every parent that would walk by him. 100/100 in my book.

I never liked this school from day one just because of the parking and I feel like my child's being single without because she may need extra help I feel like the school rushes the students no one's going to change my mind on how I feel I just don't like the principal we never seen eye to eye and every time we have a conversation it feels like she's laughing at me

The rating placed on this school does not do justice to the professionalism of the staff or the care my son receives. Your Child will progress well here and be well equipped for middle school. I would rate this school overall 9 out of 10 objectively.

Principal doesn’t take threats seriously. A student threatened another with a gun and the principal didn’t believe it was true. Most teachers are disrespectful to the students. One paraprofessional yanked my son by the neck of his sweater during a drill and when I raised a concern about it I was told well she will stay in the classroom we will just tell her not to do that again. Additionally, there’s no extra help for struggling students. Horrible school 10/10 do NOT recommend.

I’m not sure how often this website is updated but my daughter has done very well at this school, she’s improved so much despite going through a pandemic she did not fall too far behind, caught up, and now exceeding her grade level. She’s made tons of friends and the environment seems to be pretty healthy (socially) for her. They’ve also been awarded the National Blue Ribbon award as well, which is given to schools for their overall academic excellence. Personally what I like most is their security as well. I feel very comfortable leaving my kid there and even the bus driver knows my neighborhood, and what cars are usually suppose to be there and who. One time wouldn’t allow my daughter off the bus because she didn’t see my car, which if we’re being honest could just be the great worker and not the case with every bus but still... idk I guess 5/10 is the rating but to me that seems too low, I believe this school is performing at least a 7 or higher. Decide for yourselves.

I would give this school the lowest rating possible. By allowing your children to go here juat shows that your do not care about the best interest of your child . The bullying is at an all time high at this school everyday my son was coming home with bumps and bruises and none of it was being done about it it got so bad that my sons teeth were broken by another student in bathroom because of lack of supervison. They need to get rid of the whole school all together because by allowing your kid to attend this school you put your child at risk of bullying and staff can care less which is truly truly unfortunate because no kid deserves to constantly be hurt and parents not notified. I was warned about this school and i still let me child attend and that is something i have to live with so whoever reads this i strongly strongly urge you to not let your child attend this school because its a major safety concern and the staff can care less which is unfortunate

I love the small sized classrooms at St Joseph School because they give the children the individual attention they need. The families are all very nice and welcoming and help make this school special. Rounding out the education with religion and instilling core values and morale's into the children is just one of many reasons we decided to send our children here. There is no place I'd rather have my children get their education than at St Joseph school!
