Burr School

I walked in to drop something off to my child and didn't realize how disrespectful these kids are to the staff members of the school. My child isn't getting their full learning experience because they are so focused on behavior because no one listens. Don't send your kids here!

As a 15 year old freshman in Wethersfield High, I look back at Belizzi as one of the most incompetent schools in Connecticut. If there was ever a big issue going on, the administrators would do barley anything! Bullying and harassment is also a big issue at the school. For being a school based on asian studies, the mandarin classes were the most chaotic and disruptive ones. Overall, there are countless schools in Connecticut that deserve your attention more than Bellizzi.

Its the best. My child has improved in all levels since attending this school he has received numerous awards. When other schools thought he had ADHD this school focus on him and realized he was just bored and needed to be challenged. The staff and principal Ms. Jackson really care about every student that attends this school

I'm not sure what the school was like 5 years ago (2017) as the "awful" review for children with learning disabilities stated, but I can tell you that in 2021 and 2022 things have been fantastic! My daughter is almost severe ADHD, and so far having the breakup in the day with all the wonderful "performing art" experiences - especially dance and vocal - has helped tremendously! She is actually excited about learning Math! They seem to balance scholastics and "The Arts" very well. We have 3 kids and have been to 2 other magnet schools; her brothers are in magnet middle and high school. Point being, this isn't the first magnet we have experienced, and we are pleased with what we see so far.

I am really disappointed with how Naylor school is run. They do not hold students accountable for their actions (even physical altercations) instead the principal amd vice principal sweeps it under the rug to avoid bad publicity/conflict. My child has been hit and bullied on multiple ocassions by another student and instead of suspending them, followed by expulsion if it continues, they simply continue to let them come to school because they are afraid of certain parents. I have even spoken to staff and they also agree and even mention that students that hurt staff are not held accountable. Honestly this school needs a revamp. All principals and vice principals need to be fired and new staff with better communication skills and the ability to handle conflict need to be put in place. If you are afraid of parents this is not the job for you. If you are afraid of students this is also not the job for you.My recommendation is to try and apply to programs to other magnet schools in or out of Hartford. Way better than sending your kids here!
