Read what parents are saying about Brunswick SchoolMy son is a middle schooler, he absolutely loves it. His academic work load is a multiple of what he had in the public school last year. He is now exceptionally challenged, really enjoys being with other bright and kind and respectful boys. Yes this is middle school where kids are usually at their most difficult, yet these kids are all so well mannered and respectful. Best decision ever was to go to Brunswick.
Posted by a parent on 9/29/2023Tom Philip is unfit to be around children. He treats his employees horribly.
Posted by a community member on 8/25/2023The educationally-awake families in Greenwich send their children to boarding school. Brunswick School is the reason why.
Posted by a parent on 7/30/2023If I had to pick a word to describe the Brunswick experience, it is 'shallow.' Everything about the place seems to be okay: people are pleasant, the place is nice-looking, and everyone seems to possess a minimum level of competence and manners. But, in reality, the school is an attempt to assess whether the unexamined life really is worth living. I disagree with those who say it has an athletic culture; what it really has is a keep-it-pleasant, see-no-evil=hear-no-evil culture which stunts analytic thinking. The other element of this never-ending Polyanna-ism which derives from Headmaster Philip is that there aren't people around who are adept at critical thinking, whether in the classroom or out. Pleasant. Decent. But hollow. Find me a Brunswick graduate who's gone on to any level of success in something which requires agile thought.
Posted by a parent on 11/17/2019I do not know what happened in 2016 to gain so much animosity but I attended in the 90s and Brunswick had the same issues as any other school out there. The difference was the focus on defeating those perceptions. The preparation when compared to many schools out there was one of excellence. Maybe things have changed, but I do not understand how. I count many of my teachers as mentors and role models I follow to this day.

Good building with plenty of land behind where the kids can play. new Adequate staff ao the school is fairly well resourced. My daughter did very well academically and it has carried forward into Central middle school. Good parental engagement especially when it domes to the annual fund raiser / carnival. N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAn exceptional school all around. My child will be graduating this spring with the first full matriculating senior class. She is headed to a great college, but she is so sad about leaving a school that has made the last 5 years an exceptional experience. It is difficult to capture what GCDS has created within the new high school. GCDS High School has managed to find educators who are talented, dedicated and inspiring. They have put together a student body that is supportive and kind and that really does demonstrate a commitment to building fine character. The administrators, coaches and all the employees are happy to be there and there has not been a single day in five years that my daughter did not look forward to going to school. The interdisciplinary curriculum helps student see their lessons as they apply to the world outside of the classrooms. There are creative intercessions and internships. The students have an array of sports and extracurricular activities and clubs and the administrators listen to the students and encourage a dialogue about school issues. The academics are rigorous, but there is constant support from the teachers, and students often work in groups so they learn a collaborative approach. She and her peers are heading off to colleges in all parts of the country, the hard part is that they are not just leaving their own families but their GCDS family as well. But I know that she will always remain connected to GCDS, and we will always be grateful for the opportunity to have had the opportunity to attend GCDS and be part of the Tiger Family.Parent Review1y ago - Greenwich Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been at Eagle Hill school since our son was 5 years old. Now as a 12 year old, he has thrived in the environment of thoughtful, specialized learning. The teachers at Eagle Hill truly customize the child's learning needs and provide creative ways to teach kids who struggle with language processing, executive functioning and other issues that stem from learning differences. We have seen our son go through the most positive change over the last few years. The school tracks progress of each child so they become confident and independent kids. In addition, their reading program is methodically proven to have great results. My son reads more than my older children. It is empowering for him.I highly recommend the school for the reasons above. If you have a child that struggles with traditional learning, this school is worth exploring. It is truly transformative for our son and our family.Parent Review8mo ago - Greenwich Country Day
